I have a E.coli UTI resistant to all oral drugs except Macrobid, which is not clearing it up. (probably because the bacteria are happily living in my urethral crypts. Or maybe just because Macrobid only works 75% of the time even on susceptible organisms.) I have heard there is a protocol to treat UTIs with Cefizox (ceftizoxime) IM with a shot one day...
