Is it a bad idea to take both pills at the same time (ie is it more likely that the antibiotic will start attacking the good bacteria in the probiotic right away and be wasted somehow - thus negating the purpose of both pills). It is advisable to take probiotics when taking antibiotics (especially if taking antibiotics long term)because antibiotics kill...

Hi everyone, I do not believe it is a good idea to take pills with prune juice or while eating prunes, due to the laxative effect of the prune juice or prunes, and the possibility that the pills may continue on into the duodenum and then the rest of the small intestine too rapidly (so to speak) and not be properly absorbed into the bloodstream by the...

I've a friend who's had a stroke and is currently rejecting all meds. One of the issues that needs dealing with is hypothyroidism. Is there a transdermal formulation for thyroid hormone, or is that too big a molecule? Transdermal formulations for maintenance doses of antibiotics like minocycline? Thanks!

I just had six Rxs filled at my local Wal*Mart Pharmacy. When I started to pay for them the clerk told me the price was about $85.00. I asked them what about my Medicare drug plan and she said they billed them for no insurance, i.e., cash. They are all, BTW, generic drugs and some are on their list of $4.00 cash Rx. When they were re-priced for...
