After a few dozen internet searches I'm not able to find any piece if info definitively stating that grapefruit juice does (or does not) interfer with the metabolism of ramipril / altace. Sure, there's lots of references about grapefruit juice interfering with statins. But my question is -> does grapefruit juice interfere, compete, or modify the metabolism...

Is this group ever going to be read by more than a few coneheads stuck up in some basement lab cutting off rat heads?

Hi, I was recently prescribed this medicine after I have been diagnosed for having nail fungus. My doctor prescribed me Itranol (by Liconsa, contains 100mg Itraconazole) and when I specifically asked him about Lamisil he said that he believes that for my specific type of nail fungus this would be more effective. Since I always prefer to be mainstream,...

I'm an undergraduate who's interested in medicine, and my prof says he hs refractory hypertension. Would aliskiren+diltiazem+acetasalicylic acid be effective for treating refractory hypertension and/or CHF? My reasons for each drug: 1. Aliskiren blocks renin, which is needed for angiontensin II synthesis 2. Diltiazem reduces heart contraction strength,...

Had a rather bad liver reaction to Z-pak. Could this be due to one of the pills breaking in half prior to taking it? Then saw attorneys on net looking for stories from similar cases.

Some antibiotics are said to "modulate" the immune system. What is meant by this and what effect do most antibiotics have on rate of skin cancer progression, such as squamous cell? IOW, is there any good data on what effect antibiotics have vis-a-vis the immune system and it's role in cancer? Thanks for any good answers.

Not only the Acai berry has ten times more antioxidants then any other fruit, but it's being scientifically proved at the University of Florida that extracts from the Acai Berries, triggered a self-destruct response in up to 86% of Leukemia cells tested!!! It helped me enormously to recover after treatment,...

My local Wal-Mart Pharmacy is still filling my Rx for generic digoxin 0.25 mg. tablets with the brand named Lanoxin. The Lanoxin brand causes me to have to pay about a $9 Co-Pay while with Digitek my Co-pay was zero. Why has WM been unable to get in a supply of Digoxin made by another company like Teva? They said they only order from two sources and...

There is a new antihistamine nasal spray--similar to Astelin, supposed to have less bitter taste. It uses the same antihistamine used in the Patanol eye drops. The brand name (in USA) will be called Patanase. It was approved by the FDA months ago. I see they have a website (www .patanase, com ), and even have a rebate form there. Anyone know if this...
