There seem to be some smart, knowledgeable folks here. So, why are there so few posts? The newsgroup seems to be dead as a door-nail. DSH

O.K. So this is the bottom line and the cat's meow when it comes to telling patients what they REALLY need to know about Nuclear Stress Tests and Radiation. Cheers, DSH -------------------------------------------------------- Radiation From Nuclear Stress Test Compared With Chest X-Rays And Annual Background Radiation at Sea Level Thallium Scan = 3 mCi -- 17.76 mSv or 1776 mrem Tl-201 Thallous Chloride (with contaminants) Sestamibi...

Correction: Yes I fully understand that. Physicians don't know the details. One admitted to me he hadn't known them since he took his boards and crammed them into his noodle. How about asking the guy who actually runs the test -- the nuclear medicine technician? I consider him to be the expert. DSH --------------------------- "Pete" <pete.burger@3dvolumetrics.net>...

Of course... But my interest goes far beyond that issue. I need to know more of the technical details -- such as PA Chest X-Ray equivalents and multiples of annual background radiation at sea level. It's not sufficient to just say "I trust the doctor who says I need this test." DSH >> Pete wrote: > >>> The question to ask yourself is what...

Does this look correct and clear? DSH --------------------------------------------------- Radiation From Nuclear Stress Test Compared With Chest X-Rays And Annual Background Radiation At Sea Level Thallium Scan = Myoview -- 3 mCi -- 17.76 mSv or 1776 mrem Tl-201 Thallous Chloride (with contaminants) Sestamibi Scan = Cardiolite, Stress -- 30 mCi...

Where are all the radiology people? I am looking for neato, cool images I can use for a poster to market my stand alone 3D lab. Anyone have any interesting cases they can send me? Pete

I'd like to take a moment to invite my fellow radiologists to check out my site. It is a grassroots site hoping to bring together radiologists to discuss cases, educational points, research, job opportunities. Come check it out! http://www.radRounds.com
