Over in misc.kids.pregnancy a pregnant woman has had 3 prenatal ultrasounds of high concern without any diagnosis. Suggestions made to her by medical professionals have included twin pregnancy with hydatidiform mole. If you have experience with prenatal ultrasound involving rare conditions, would you please take a look? Pologirl

Last year I had a number of CT studies done in a short period of time. Trying to estimate how much radiation I received. Problem is I don't know if I had just one pass or multiple at each session. I do, however, have the medical report and was hoping someone could demystify it. 1. Ct Abdomen and pelvis. Following the administration of oral contrast,...

Ectopic Pregnancy Did you know that symptoms of ectopic pregnancy typically include lower back, abdominal, or pelvic pain. The pain usually gets worse before it gets better and more often than not vaginal bleeding will occur. I am expecting my first child in March. I have to admit that I was very nervous about ectopic pregnancy and I did not know much...

Talking with my instructor on Friday, but I'm looking for some help here. Okay, kVp drives contrast. More, to a certain point, is better. But you have other effects going on at the same time that cause their own issues with image quality. But you really want a reasonably long scale image. Right? mAs drives density. You really want a nice dark is...

Hi, is there anyone who uses a "fullproof" carotid angio program for CT? What is the injection rate, contrast density or make of contrast? On a Siemens 16 slice do you also use the bone removal software or inspace? My problem is the scatter that I encounter with the program. Do you put the patient's arms next to him side or above the head? Thx...

Can anyone differentiate between these two views? They appear to be the same, AP spot views, except the Ferguson is centered more inferior for the SI and the Hibbs for the L5-S1. We'd appreciate any online references also. Thanks in advance. (Similarly posted to sci.med.orthopedics)

Prior to starting chemo last year, my wife had a MUGA. Just how does that work? It was really pretty interesting to watch the picture of her heart develop over a period of time. But what exactly does it show the radiologist/cardiologist? I understand it's something about ejection efficiency, I think. Dr. George wants her to do another one next spring,...
