I found a full text review on vitamin D which is freely downloadable. This new review is made for Canadians but as vitamin D deficiency is pandemic, it should be largely applicable for people living in other locations as well. http://www.cfp.ca/cgi/content/full/53/5/841 -- Juhana http://ruohikolla.blogspot.com/

I am new to this group with a recent osteopenea diagnosis and am attempting to get my ducks in order re: treatment. Both these drugs (see heading) have come up with Fosamax apparently the gold standard. I thought I had seen a webpage stating that the FDA had actually removed Edidronate from the recommended Osteoporsis therapy list but now I can't seem...

Hey man I got this tremendous toothache from a broken wisdom tooth and the only local dentist refused me treatment citing that I have severe osteoporosis and my current regiment is actonel, and it being like fosamax and considering my awesome fracture history, including breaking the jaw at one time. TO: All melanoma researchers, doctors, and patients. The hormonal form of vitamin D, which is activated throughout the body, inhibits the growth of human melanoma cells. (See Colston et al. Endocrinology. March 1981) The inactive precursor vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol) is cheap, easily administered, and has no side effects. Its results would be known within...

Low Buzz May Give Mice Better Bones and Less Fat By GINA KOLATA http://www.nytimes.com/2007/10/30/health/research/30bone.html?ref=science Clinton T. Rubin knows full well that his recent results are surprising — that no one has been more taken aback than he. And he cautions that it is far too soon to leap to conclusions about humans. But still, he says,...

What I want to know is: people that have had Fosamax-related heartburn, exactly what did it feel like and under what circumstances did it occur? Am I right in thinking that if you take it weekly, you'd notice it soon after taking it... and mostly on the day you take it? I'm asking this question because I take Fosamax and I have _occasional_ heartburn....

TO: All melanoma researchers, doctors, and patients. Long before the current vitamin D hype, the famous Garland brothers made a significant observation. TO: All melanoma researchers, doctors, and patients. A famous 2002 study found that a small spot of gray duct tape applied to a wart for up to two months eliminated it in nearly all cases, whereas a recent 2007 study found that transparent duct tape hardly worked at all. The investigators jumped into the most complicated speculations, ranging from the...
