My doc thinks taking me off Fosamax for six months or a year to see what happens is a good idea. This make sense? I did Fosamax for two years minimal improvement. 52 year old male, idiopathic, pena in the hip and slight OP in the spine. Thoughts?

I have been taking Fosamax and then Boniva for my OP, thought to have been caused by prednisone therapy. The meds improved my score to the extent that I was found to be OP free, so one of my docs suggested that I stop taking any med. Some time later I was back into the OP range, so started up again with the Boniva. My last scan showed me free of any OP,...

I was diagnosed with osteoporosis and osteopenia in various joints. I am a 52 year old male and it appears to be an idiopathic case. Did fosamax for two years, was retested and no change except for some very minor improvement in the back where I had some osteopenia. The osteoporosis was in the hip. Do I continue thinking well at least I have arrested it....

TO: All melanoma researchers, doctors, and patients. Melanoma incidence has been increasing right before our very eyes, alarmingly affecting much younger ages than in the past, and yet we still do not know what is causing it. Why not? It couldn't be from a lack of technology, as microscopes and surgical techniques have been around for well over a...

Ectopic Pregnancy Did you know that symptoms of ectopic pregnancy typically include lower back, abdominal, or pelvic pain. The pain usually gets worse before it gets better and more often than not vaginal bleeding will occur. I am expecting my first child in March. I have to admit that I was very nervous about ectopic pregnancy and I did not know much...

There are many rapid weight loss programs which guarantee weight loss in a natural way.The weight loss program is no way natural if it promises you fast weight loss. Lets have a look in which way we should lose weight if we want to do it in a natural way. As gaining weight is a slow process so weight loss is also a gradual process. Never opt for a crash...

1) Where does osteoporosis happen in the compact part of the bone or in the spongy part? 2) Why is that some bones are more porous than other bones for example the thighbone and the hip will brake in people with osteoporosis more often than other bones/ 3) does this mean that only those bones have osteoporosis? or the whole body has this disorder but this...

I play a bit of tennis and have developed frozen shoulder apparently, and I just have to wait it out for it to go away. But a cortisone shot will help with the pain, I am told. I told my docs I was diagnoses with osteoporosis about two years ago at age 50 (and a male -- it is apparently ideopathic). They said two shots a year won't be bad. I am skeptical,...
