I When a glass is put over an expensive dining room table or a buffet, what is supposed to be done between the glass and the top of the piece of furniture? My mother always used small felt circles. Now my brother has inherited the furniture and his wife uses some sort of clear circle of the same size for the dining room table but the buffet has nothing n-o-t-h-i-ng,...

Here's an interesting product - a spray-on insulation for houses, water heaters and whatever else may need insulation. http://blogs.zdnet.com/green/?p=1019 -- There is no such thing as 'too much snow'.

I am using Muriatic acid which will go into the ground from cleaning a garage and wonder what hardware or grocery store product I can mix with water to neutralise run off. Would Baking Soda work?

Does anyone know how the prices are at Fergusons compared to say HD or lowes? I'm talking about regular plumbing items and faucet fixtures? I've never been there...but a buddy suggested going over there for quality stuff. thanks -jd

Hello someone asked me to do crown moldings over all there interior doors. Ive done lots of crown work on ceilings but never over doors. Does anyone have pictures or step by step guides on how to go about this. I assume I would just cut to small sides then the main piece and put them together, but there will be a hole on top, so I guess I would have...

NY Times 5/8/08 On a day when Mr. Obama won a decisive victory in North Carolina and Mrs. Clinton eked out a win in Indiana, Mr. McCain spoke about his judicial philosophy.*** He is determined to move a far too conservative and far too activist Supreme Court and federal judiciary even further and more actively to the right.*** Mr. McCain predictably...

THE RELIGION OF ISLAM The first thing that one should know and clearly understand about Islam is what the word "Islam" itself means. The religion of Islam is not named after a person as in the case of Christianity which was named after Jesus Christ, Buddhism after Gotama Buddha, Confucianism after Confucius, and Marxism after Karl Marx. Nor was it named...

I'm trying to make the DIY vs outsourcing decision on my deck. Due to its current state, I know I have to completely strip the current oil based product and start from scratch. I know the staining isn't a big deal, but I'm trying to figure out how much time I'm talking about if I prep it myself. It has Flood CWF on it, which I've heard is tough to get...

Next step, as we repair, is to get some outdoor carpeting cover for the back porch and the sunroom. Could use some advice on brands of long lasting products. Specifics below: - The sunroom is 11'x13' and should stay dry but we were thinking to hedge our bets. We've noticed some pretty nice looking berber-ish materials in the indoor-outdoor type....

I have replaced all the lighting and ceiling fans with no problem, except in my room. I have tried to put in another ceiling fan and there is a spark and the breaker trips. Do I have to call an electrician?

I have a few questions that involve simple electrical wire theory, but the situation gets a little bit complicated. I am trying to run an extension cord (or cords) into the woods to power a stage, with fairly powerful musical equipment, lights, PA, etc. I'm assuming the power outlets that will be available are standard grounded 120 Volt, hopefully on...
