I have gotten some very valuable advise fron this site over the past few years as I have done my research, and I appreciate that. I have another question about...

If there is a better group for this question, let me know. I'm doing some QuickBooks work for a friend in construction. He holds no real inventory. The default construction company chart of accounts places "cleanup & dumping", "construction materials cost", and "equipment rental for jobs" in the cost of goods sold category, but I rather think they...

A fence will keep out unwanted visitors and animals while keeping your children and pets safe in your yard. An aluminum fence is the ideal purchase for this scenario because it is visually appealing, sturdy, and guaranteed for a lifetime! These metal like fence systems are easy to install and come in four gorgeous colors. Aluminum is the new version of the...

X-post to A.H.R and A.B.C. I bought a new air compressor and received it today from HF. It's a Central Pneumatic 2 HP, 8 gallon, 115 psi. It replaces a CH compressor that went belly up. My main use for a compressor is to fill up tires and pool floats, and maybe blowing some dust around. I do have some air tools left here by my deceased F-I-L (hammers,...

I have to patch parts of the exterior stucco where I put in new windows. I have never done stucco before, but I figure it can't be all that different from everything else I do with trowels. Given that I want to be able to by supplies incrementally from Home Depot or Lowe's, what should I look for? Some stucco advertises that they have fiberglass...

This question is about half home repair and half construction materials, so I've x-posted where I think appropriate. http :// tinypic, com /r/dzxdgg/4 I'm trying to integrate visual media into what I do as a handyman. I find the advice I get on usenet invaluable, as many of the things I do here in abq are with building systems I haven't seen before,...

I have always wanted to participate in growing fruits and vegetables. I believe by doing so I am already promoting environmentalism, which really starts at home. Then, the whole community can follow as well. It was good that EzyVegies has come up with numerous Vegetable Garden programs such as the Residential Program, School Program, Community Program, and...

I remember when the cordless drills first came out. Back then I believe Makita was the brand for professional. However, Makita was very expensive and I went with Skil, which also had a professional 12 volt line called Top Gun. This Top Gun drill was made very well and the original battery lasted between 5 to 7 years. After that drill died, I purchased...

I have a client, who is renovating his house, so as to move in from a rental, and wants some electric jobs (I am an electrician). One of them, is changing the main feed from the electricity meter to the main distribution panel. The old one is probably from the '60s, and is only 6mm^2 (#12aprox) with an allowed amperage of 25 A @ 230 V. I want to install...
