I took the meter outside and turned it back on. It then went to 0. I then tried retesting and the CO wet up quickly to 800+ so I stopped the test. I...

I need to raise a large 20 x 24 foot shed about 2 feet. I was built using 5-4x4 beams (should have been 6x6), 2x8 floor joists, and sits on 25 pads about 16" off the ground. There is no electric or plumbing going to/from the shed. just a large shed I want to make into a workshop, but need to raise as in normal very heavy rains, flood water comes up to...

Wondering if anyone out there has been hearing a buzz about large scale fastener price increases on the immediate horizon for fasteners coming out of China? In a recent conversation with one of our vendors they made mention of a tariff going into effect on fasteners (nails and screws in this case) which was estimated to result in a 40-60% (and possible more)...

Think twice before you buy a New England Home from Atlantic Blue Modular Home LLC, Chester, NH and or Liberty Modular Home LLC from Chichester, NH. We are having many issues from unexceptable to poor workmanship issues to uninstalled and incorrectly installed building products from NEH independant contractor which was assigned to us by NEH back in Dec 2007....

My husband and I just recently purchase a split level home and would like to make the bottom level (basement) one large room. My husband says that the joists that runs above the wall we want to tear down are diagonal. I had heard that if the joists are diagonal above the wall that means it is not a load bearing wall and that we can tear it down. Please a...
