It is gives out a glaring white light. We want to give the room a more cozy feeling and we don't need it that bright. Does anyone know of any Incandescent can lighting that we can hang...

We have installed concrete pavers for walkways and a small patio, but I am considering using pavers for our driveway this summer. I typically install a 4-6" compacted gravel base, then the 1" sand layer, then install the pavers on top, sweep in sand, and compact again. Are there any additional steps I need to take for a paver driveway? Will I have...

I live in Jackson Tenn were we just had a big Tornado. I'm looking at a Concrete Storm Shelter for $2,400 vs Steel Shelter for $7,000 the same size. I was told by the steel people that the Concrete will leak through over time. I was thinking before I put the concrete in the ground put a rubber sealer on both sides?? Sure steel is better but...

Good evening. I want to put a dishwasher in my 1930 kitchen. Unfortunately, the old counters are quite shallow. The distance from the wall surface to the cabinet face is 21.5". I could probably get another 3/4" or so by removing the lath and plaster behind the dishwasher. Any suggestions for a modern dishwasher that might be a reasonable fit h...

Does anyone have information on studies done on standby load for residential? I've found some info but it is from 1999. I would like to see how the trend is increasing and what the future projections may hold. Thanks Andy

In residential construction, walls are typically sheathed with OSB and the outside of the house is then wrapped in Tyvek or a similar housewrap. Somewhere I saw a product that was OSB with the housewrap bonded to the exterior of the OSB sheet -- imagine a sheet of OSB with a layer of Tyvek glued tightly to it. These sheets were installed just like regular...

Now the 24 inch version has been slated for release several times and now scheduled for sale in late February. Anyone think it would be worth the wait? The instruction video, starring Norm, makes...
