This year I plan to put a small Hot Dawg furnace in the detached garage. I will have to tee in to the primary regulator output and run a line over to a new secondary regulator. This is a 500# pig. Back when I installed this system decades ago, I used 1/2" copper line. Is copper still the line of choice for running between the primary and secondary regulator...

Last September/October I had a new 40x60' pad in front of my garage poured along with a 45x4' sidewalk from the house to the garage. This company also did a 250' asphalt turnaround. (I couldn't afford all concrete) Anyway, I will dispense initially with all the issues I had with these guys trying to get them to finish it properly at the end because it...

I bought the 1/4 inch Tapcon screws at Lowe's, in a package that included the correct mortor bit. Everything worked fine!! The screws went in fine, and seemed to "tap" or "seat" as I would have expected. I put three screws in each bracket mount for my shelves. I didn't know about Tapcons, but now I do, thanks to many of you who gave me good...

My budget is pretty tight, so I plan to do all reasonable work myself, with the exception of electrical work. My yard slopes a bit and there's about 2-3 ft drop along what will be the length of...

I want to mount a PT 2 x 4 to a cinder block wall in my basement, in order to build some shelves. What is the best way to do this ? These shelves may hold a max of 100 lbs. I have seen those lead "sleeves" which I suppose you screw lag bolts into. Is that the best method ? Are there other products which are easier to use ? I do have some...

My dad recently suffered a stroke. Before he returns home, I need to do something with their sunken bath/shower to accommodate his limited mobility while he recovers. It's ~ 37x58" and maybe a foot deep. It has a 6" or so lip above grade and then a sorry excuse for a step (like 4" wide) that would be a tripping hazard for anyone. Ultimately,...
