Since the initial announcement they were scrapping the Hooter's theme and planning to remake the building into a generic upscale/boutique hotel I haven't heard anything about Hooters? Has their been any news? Have they started any renovations?

I was wondering if, among the hardened spielers and Vegas aficionados here, there was anyone who actually got married in LV. My other half and I are planning to do the evil deed in October and, having checked out a load of relevant websites, I'm finding the number of potential locations a little daunting! There will just be the two of us and we would...

Here is some more of my trip report, with stuff in no particular order. - A couple times during the weekend, after have had several cocktails, I recall telling people how great I felt...and it was 100% true. I distinctly recall telling Matt & Burt that while walking to the car on our way from MSS to the Joker's Wild for craps Sat. night, and I also...

K.L. Mouton is back from Las Vegas. I stayed at Bill's, hoping it was Barbary Coast untouched. Maybe my Barbary memories are just fuzzy, but I thought Barbary was more vibrant and eye-appealing than what Bill's is now. It's not a dump by any stretch, and I did catch Big Elvis for the first time (now I know why everyone speaks well of Big E), but Harrah's...

I am surprised at the demise of Faro. Once the most popular gambling game in the Old West, listing Doc Holliday and Wyatt Earp as devotees, Faro has sunk so low so as to be unavailable in casinos. Which is a shame, really, because the game seems pretty interesting. It might be time for a Faro revival in America. The game would be a natural for Luxor. revive...

There was an ad for Deja Vu Showgirls that claimed, "If you take a taxi or limo, make sure they take you to Deja Vu - taxi and limo drivers are paid up to $80 to divert customers to other clubs". What's the real story? -- Don

Notice a billboard for PT's Pub announcing 50% off on everything during certain hours which I didn't catch what hours as I was driving too fast. Printable coupon for Las Vegas Advisor members offer 2/1 at Village Pubs. Boulder Station had $3 blackjack at 9 am this morning. The buffet is now at Railheads, $4.99 breakfast, prime rib & shrimp buffet served...

At the GN near the Fremont Street entrance next to the 4 Queens, there was a bank of video machines that played a 6-digit lottery-style game (i.e. like a Pick 3 or Pick 4 lottery, but with 6-digit numbers). The payoffs were: All 6 digits - 20,000 5 - 300 (1000) 4 - 60 (240) 3 - 12 (60) 2 - 4 (16) 1 - 0 (1) Numbers in parentheses are payoffs if the numbers...

Anyone that knows the basics about roulette knows that it's the presence of '0' (and in American roulette '00') that gives the house an edge. The house edge is 2.7% for a single zero game and 5.26% for the double zero game. It's this edge that guarantees loss in the long term. There are no betting systems which can overcome this house advantage. So what...

Customer: Hi. How much is your paint? Assistant: Well, sir, that all depends on quite a lot of things. Customer: Can you give me a guess? Is there an average price? Assistant: Our lowest price is £12 a gallon, and we have 60 different prices up to £200 a gallon. Customer: What's the difference in the paint? Assistant: Oh, there isn't any difference;...

This is the third year in a row that my family has gotten together in Las Vegas, and this was the biggest, with 14 people in all. Its starting to become a family tradition. On Sunday, June 29, my wife, me, and mother in law drove from Anaheim to Las Vegas, the first long trip in our new (to us, anyway) Cadillac CTS. That made the drive more than tolerable,...

First, a bit of pre-trip advice: everything bad you hear about Buca di Beppo is probably true. Their "marinara sauce" consists mainly of small chunks of diced tomato with an attempt at spices thrown in (although I did enjoy the meatball). I should have sensed something when one of their signs mentioned "friends (in Italian, 'paisanos')". (For the record,...

Happy Fourth O' July y'all. I'm so glad Independence Day fell on the fourth this year. Just think, if we hadn't won the Revolutionary War we'd all be speaking English right now.
