Just back from 4 nights at the Palazzo. Very nice room. I would say the living space is superior to that of Wynn's, but the Wynn's bathrooms are bigger and a bit nicer. The casino is not overly big, but nice high ceilings. The blackjack conditions were fine. Although they hit soft 17, the table minimums were reasonable and they had a number of good...

Well, it seems that the folks that tore down the Frontier are having money troubles. Yeah, that's what happens when you want to spend $8 billion to build a megaresort & can't raise the dough (or, should I say, DOH!). Maybe they should have kept the Frontier open until they got the financing in place. But hey, that's just me. * w w w .lvbusinesspress . com /articles/2008/07/14/news/iq 22330919.txt Even...

I was contemplating taking my fiancee to Craftsteak (in the MGM). Any comments about quality - or menu recommendations? Yes, I realize there may be better steakhouses on and off the Strip, but competitors aside, is a trip to Craftsteak worth it?

Last night my wife and I enjoyed a nice dinner with Chuck K. He and his wife were in San Antonio serving two purposes. Since Toyota has ceased production of the Tundra here for three months, Nissan is contemplating a move here to take advantage of the great economic climate, and Chuck is trying to put together a competing Consumer Electronic Show at the...

Thought many here might find this Op Ed interesting, no matter which side of the Electoral College vs. Popular vote you may be on. * w w w .boston . com /bostonglobe/editorial opinion/oped/articles/2008/07/16/the brilliance of the electoral college/

Walt TR - Part 3 of 4 ---------------------------------------- HOTEL For my last 3 nights in Vegas, I had booked an ElCo pavilion room (a motel-style room atop the parking garage) through a Travelworm deal that gave me Tuesday free with two paid nights ($84.96 total). Upon check-in, the desk clerk offered me a free upgrade to a Vintage Suite, which...

Someone once said, "Each birthday is a new beginning, full of promise and opportunity and the chance to make dreams come true." Of course those who know you might also add that it only applies as long as the Red Sox, Patriots and Celtics are in first place......air fares to Vegas are low......and Jack Bauer is saving the world. I hope this will be the...

Have you ever noticed those small blinking red & blue lights high up on the pole at 15th and Fremont? Those are police cameras monitoring the area for crime. They have justed installed more of these at 8th and Fremont streets. The southwest corner next to the Westerns parking lot. Vegas is safe now! dr. Baf

What a bummer! The main reason for my September trip to Vegas was my costly, premier tickets to the new Criss Angel & Cirque show at Luxor. Now, the show has been postponed indefinitely, due to "technical problems". Oh well, at least there is Cher at Caesars.

Walt TR - Part 2 of 4 ---------------------------------------- HOTEL My 9-day residency at Vegas Club was bookended by two stays at the El Cortez. The first was for two free nights in a Tower room, which I earned merely by staying at the ElCo in April. I received a south-facing room with the distant Strip-view... * waltlv.tripod . com /vegas/elcoview.jpg MEALS *...

Any opinions? We're local, so either on-or-off-strip will be fine. TIA, -- Steve Green

Hey guys, I am getting back on my feet so to speak after that knee surgery. I have started the history of Caesars Palace, beginning with its birth. As I add to the history there will be some never before seen photos of the architecture and behind the scenes. So check it out. It all begins here: * classiclasvegas.squarespace . com /classic-las-vegas-blog/ Lynn...
