It's been awhile since we've stayed there, and I don't remember which are the choice rooms, or are they all pretty much the same? All I do remember is the long walk past the time share folks to get to either tower elevator. Any help appreciated. -- "Money Won is Twice as Sweet as Money Earned" ... I noticed today that according to county records the Diamond Inn Motel (the one with the pink elephant out front next to Mandalay Bay) was built in 1940. That is incredibly old for Las Vegas especially for that part of town. I have to imagine that is the oldest structure on LVB, it even pre dates the 1st strip resort El Rancho Vegas (which burned down almost...

I just got a flyer for a free slot tournament at The Strat. I considered it because my currently booked trip buts right up against it, so I read the (REALLY) fine print. Would you believe all prizes will be awarded in the form of free slot play??????

A takeoff on a song written by Jim Steinman and recorded by Meatloaf, but it sums up my sentiments regarding the following: I was poking around the Boulder Station website and made a discovery. The Feast buffet is in process of being renovated and is temporarily being served in the Railhead (lounge/concert venue) which is old news. Here is the new news: "Come...

Cox and Embarq have been pushing HARD lately, offering what seem to be deals, but I wonder... how much of this is gearing up for February? and what will happen then? Looking at their websites doesn't really help, and in fact adds to my consternation... Cox is offering digital converters @ almost $11 per box! Are they going to be necessary as of February,...

Allegiant Air is having a Vegas package special. Book through July 30 for travel before mid-December. I was looking at it and found many instances where a 4 night package with hotel (Vegas Club, etc) was cheaper than two r/t airfares. Even if you don't want to stay at low-end properties, it might be worth booking a package and throwing out the hotel...

Unlike many in this group I don't frequent downtown. Alas, I'm determined to get *something* of value out of the ACG book I bought and am going to use a twofer this weekend. Your reviews of the following restaurants appreciated: Ranch Steakhouse - Binions Roberta's - El Cortez Magnolias - 4 Queens Not downtown but Casa Nicola and T.J's Steakhouse,...
