Anyone in the UK care to recommend their best roasted bean supplier. I love Hill an Valley Coffee beans but they've killed ordering on-line with a massive increase in delivery charge - £15 to deliver 2Kgs in the UK. Cheers Dave

I'm about to undertake a rebuild of a commercial 1 group. The local espresso parts supplier has 1 kg tubs of calcinet for 55$ each. Pretty expensive. Anyone used it or has something else to suggest? thanks, Sylvain

I just wanted to let people know about my favorite coffee place in Washington D.C. It's an old Washington Land Mark. Its original building, facing Pennsylvania Ave, was swallowed up by redevelopment of the PA Ave corridor, but the sign is still there: M.E. Swing Co. M.E. Swing, orginally a coffee and tea importer and processor, is now located in a rather...

Hey, Can anyone point me to the current status of coffee consumption in Switzerland? I've tried the archives here and the ICO website and google in general with little success. I'm presenting to a company that will be recreating products here that have been very successful there, and would like both to be well informed and able to create a blend or single...

Hi I just bought my first espresso machine last month (DeLonghi EC710). What should I use to descale the machine? I have done some research on the internet and Cleancaf seems to receive good reviews. Any thought? Thank you. Thanaset

A friend has just been hired to become the Chancellor of LSU. Crap. I'll miss seeing him every morning. Anyway, I'd like to recommend some good coffeehouses around the campus to him as he likes to go in early, have a cup and chat with the regulars. He will be a great addition to the LSU system. His name is Mike Martin and has done a great job in Las Cruces...

This Friday, Saturday & Sunday, Coffee Fest is coming to our island. First time ever, of course. It's going to be held at a hotel, about 25 miles from the Kona Districts, but has the usual cast of characters:). The Kona Coffee Farmers Association (KCFA) bought a Booth (pricey at $1950!) but it is being held near our own back yard so we thought it was important...

Sitting here enjoying a cuppa with my sweetie whilst the mercury climbs to a predicted 100F+ today. If you are around a radio today and are able to listen to an NPR station for the Prarie Home Companion it was taped here in Las Cruces yesterday. I was fortunate to get a couple of 5th row seats and an invite to the after show reception. We don't get much...

Any home roasters out there in or near Cecil County Maryland? I am fairly new to home roasting and would be interested in sharing samples of green and/or roasted beans. Regards, Ellis ellis@copper,net ** Posted from http :// www .teranews, com **

So I bought a bag of Brasilian (2.5lbs) from Sam's club $12.99 (which I like, & use Brasilian as part of a blend). I also took up the 1.5 lbs (whole bean traditional roast) & mug from Gevalia for $3 offer (1/2lb each of Kenyan, Mocca, & Colombia) and have just tried the Mocca. Never having roasted Moca I find the Gevalia decent maybe even good, or at least...

DH has used for 3 days now the larger portafilter that came as a bonus with our Silvia. He really likes the larger one and we think the espresso is just as tasty. As you can tell, I am not making espresso with the Silvia -- I'm just biding my time, waiting and watching and larnin' Dee Dee
