I use a pretty powerful heat-gun for outdoor bean roasting. Now though we're coming into the coldest months (this weekend reached a max 10 centigrade) and I found it took an inordinate time to get the beans to a decent brown colour, and I couldn't even hear any cracking. It took almost an hour whereas I can generally roast about 600 grams in 20 minutes....

I visited Coffeelabs in Tarrytown, New York not long ago and found it to be quite good. I was wondering what reputation it has with subscribers to this newsgroup.

Although I brew my own espresso I am always looking for good coffee places. Can someone tell me if there is such a place in New Jersey's Bergen or Hudson counties?

I've read a few back postings, but can't get enough information to make a presentation to DH regarding my desire/wish not to put oily dark beans in the Sivlia espresso and Rocky burr grinder. My arguments are: I can taste dark-roasted and/or oily beans 'a mile-away.' If any remains in the grinder or if the oil sticks to the grinder, I will be able...

Can you refer me to a good source for a group head gasket for my SAECO Via Veneto? Also, is there an instruction page for this replacement online? I've found a page for replacing Rocky's burrs: * coffeetime.wikidot . com /rancilio-rocky-burr-replacement Is there a better one?

"PurJava is a top pick according to Phil Lempert of NBC's Today Show Brewing a great cup of coffee can be a very frustrating experience. It's truly both an art and a science. Finding the right coffee beans, storing them properly, grinding them correctly, and using just the right brewing device is all part of the task. v.2007-09-13 WHAT IS ALT.COFFEE ? Alt.coffee is a flow of posts (properly known as articles) in a heirarchy known as a newsgroup in a system known as Usenet, which is propagated over tens of thousands of servers worldwide generally via a protocol known as NNTP. WHAT ALT.COFFEE is not. Alt.coffee is not a "site." It is not a web forum....
