In addition to drinking coffee I also run a bit. For longer races
there are energy gels, complex carbohydrates in a little packet that
one can suck down quickly, supposedly they keep one from hitting the
proverbial "wall".
They have energy gels with caffeine, for some reason most of the
gels with caffeine are some sort of coffee flavor, latte, mocha...
