Greetings! A week or so ago Peet's released the Nicaraguan "Las Hermanas" (the sisters) at about US$13 per pound. It's not bad at all -- fairly full bodied and somewhat reminiscent of their Guatemala coffees. But compared to some of their signature blends (Major Dickason, for example) it is a bit one-dimensional. I also recently tried the "New...

I have used this BUNN VP-17-2 coffee maker for over 10 years. Should I be concerned about mineral deposits (or other gunk) building up on the units internal plumbing and water heated tank? If so, how do I go about cleaning and flushing the system and not leave crap inside the unit. I DO NOT want to affect the taste. PS - I am not having any problems, just...

The reason I post these articles is primarily to share some of the industry mail I get and to watch the reactions posted by regulars here. A large part of what I have been doing for the last couple of years has been helping coffee businesses at varying levels get started. A large part of that is watching market trends, and the successes and failures of those...

I'm trying to use a 2-cup Brikka pot on my gas stove but because the pot is so small, it can't stand stable on stove. Is there any trick to do this? I suppose a lot of people would have similar problems when they realise that the pot is too small for their stove.

Hi, My name is Simer. For my dissertation, I am conducting a netnography study on the authenticity of Starbuck's emotional brandind strategy. For such purposes I will be required to study some users and quote comments on the above topic. I would like to grant permission for it. Thanks Simer

Pete came in today dressed as usual. I haven't seen him in a long while and I knew his lifelong partner, Margie, had died about 7 months ago. Pete was dressed as usual, with his immaculate straw fedora, white shirt and tie from the '50s, tie pin, black slacks and polished Wingtips. The sadness in his eyes was so, so different than when he and Margie used...

Howdy Folks! I'm currently roasting using home-builts - TurboCrazy & modified air poppers. When the beans reach the color I want I dump them into a colander that sits atop a large fan. I put a lid on top of the colander and turn the fan on high and believe me the beans stop cooking and cool quickly. Lately I've been considering buying a roaster with...

I'm travelling with my son to Rimini at the end of September where he will compete in the world finals of the ITU duathlon. As the support dad I'll have some time on my hands to wander around and sample the local espresso. Anybody ever been to either of these spots and have recommendations for a particular espresso bar? Bernie

This morning I downloaded all available notes from this group (167,000) and did a search for "best". I found 6 threads but none were able to help. Many of the small units are no longer being made, one being the Bodum Santos mini e. I drink 2-3 cups of Smith Farms Kona in the morning and I am looking for a drip unit that will take advantage of my fresh...
