I don't know what I smoked today. Did Mag. 46's ever come with the brown bands? Or only naked or with the red ones? Though quite possible, it's hard to imagine I had an on-the-rare-side Super Corona and not know it. I might have gotten it unlabeled in a swap, or something, but I have no recollection of ever buying one.

One of the nice things about moving is that I went 49 days without a Thompson's catalog. The first one arrived at my new address today. Oh, well, I can use it in my new fireplace. Meanwhile: I've sent notices to all the contestants in the Great Housewarming Contest (or whatever I called it.) I got responses from everyone but the Baron and Alex. ...

Hey gang, long time, no read..... Buddy is leaving for Florence Italy on Monday to visit his daughter who's spending a semester there. He asked me to try to find out if there are any reputable Cuban cigar dealers in the area. So, anyone familiar with the area care to chime in?? TIA, Sandy K.

The package was ticking, but I knew it wasn't one of those "red wire, blue wire" things -- that would be too obvious. *THIS* was obviously some sort of puzzle, and only logic could help me, now. Luckily, the package came with a nice little primer on logic, and a couple of cigars to smoke while I thought about it. I think the ticking is just supposed...

Well, it's been a while since we've had any good incendiary political posts here, so here's one for y'all: It is become painfully clear that the Queen of the Shrews will not get the Democrats nomination fair and square. So will Hitlary resort to a Ron Brown, or go back a little further in Democrat history, and pull a Sirhan Sirhan?

Czech President Vaclav Klaus' address delivered at Prague Castle this week. "Future dangers will not come from the same source," said the Czech head of state, speaking at the 60th anniversary of the communist takeover of the former Czechoslovakia. "The ideology will be different. Its essence will nevertheless be identical: an attractive, at first sight...

Jim "JimSr" Mendola, whose birthday is today. Mar 21 1843 According to Biblical crackpot William Miller, Christ would return sometime in the year following this day in 1843. After Jesus failed to appear by the next March, Miller claimed it was the result of an arithmetic error and recalculated the deadline to be October 22, 1844. The Lord was AWOL...

I just got e-mails from 2 business buddies about a series of earthquakes in the Bay Area (like I'm even sure what that means )... batten down the hatches and secure the humidors and wine cellars my friends! Prior to the timfoil hat problems (no spelling mistake) I had recommended Vegas de Santiago products, but they were often derided. For the last five years Rudy has been my source of between 5 and 7 hundred cigars that I give away at my BBQ cook-off booth at the World's Championship in Houston. We raise money for the Sunshine Kids and the Small Steps...

I have smoked cigars off and on. I enjoy the camaraderie of those who smoke and the intense conversations. This group looks interesting and hopefully the content will continue to grow. Of particular interest to me -- locating cigar friendly places when traveling. Cigar Aficionado is helpful in this regard, but by no means complete. For those traveling...
