Over this past winter, my smoking dropped off considerably. The winter was long and bleak and dreary. I just didn't have the want or desire to light up much. But I did smoke a couple new to me cigars that I wanted to pass on to you all. The first was a tasty little knock off from Uncle Mikey. The Carbon Copy F is supposed to mimic the Fuente Hemingway...

for Raymon John "john/mungball" Smith, it's his birthday! Elsewhere in history... Apr 5 1815 Mount Tambora erupts in what is now Indonesia, killing 12,000 and spewing eighty cubic kilometers of ash into the atmosphere at once. The blast is heard more than 900 miles away, and makes summer feel like winter in many parts of the world. [One day....

If you haven't been to one of the best herfs in the world yet, you need to get to the Crescent City Crawfish Cigar Crawl here in New Orleans. It's happening the weekend of April 17-20, only a couple of weeks away. So now's the time to jump off the fence and make plans to get your self down here. And bring your spouse, brothers, and friends because...

Unlucky strikes Apr 3rd 2008 From The Economist print edition America's smoking bans are causing fatal accidents BANNING smoking in public places is supposed to save lives. It encourages people to smoke less, so they do themselves and those around them less harm. That, at least, is the theory. Whether it works may depend on how uniform anti-smoking...

I 'won' a box of these big guns on an auction. I tried the bundled version on a whim as a cheap everyday work smoke. Thought, Hey these aren't too bad. So I invested a little more on the Limited Editions. WOW, I really good smoke. About the biggest ring gauge I've ever tried at a whopping 60. Full flavored. Great burn. Nice finish. This one is...

I'm not going to do a detailed review at the moment, only comment a bit on what I've found out about this brand. I posted almost a month ago with a question about these cigars. Well, after going to visit a B&M in Houston that had them while visiting my folks over Easter weekend, I found it to be a decent enough cigar to inquire about actually getting...

The NY Times had a fascinating write up on Clinton's proposed health care plan. And once again I saw the same old requirement for funding. Let's tax tobacco more! Taxing a shrinking group more and more doesn't make for a smart policy. Yes, we need a healthcare program that works. But time and time again the only suggested method of paying for it has...

I really do. I've been smoking cigars for about three years now and although I enjoy them I don't *really* enjoy them. I love the whole ritual of cutting and toasting and the camaraderie of lighting up with fellow smokers but I am still missing something. I do want to enjoy a good cigar like a good meal but all I taste is smoke. I usually smoke inexpensive...

I purchased a box of CAO Moontrance Petit Corona's about a month ago from FSS. When I pulled them out of the box, they were as fresh as anything and the first smoke was awesome - full of flavor. I had never before smoked a CAO cigar. Since then, they have been chillin' in my humidor at a constant 69-70% humidity. I've smoked about one a week and it seems...
