The author of the web-comic xkcd (good geeky fun) has invented an algorithm he calls a "spontaneous adventure generator" which leads to a sport called "Geohashing." You adventureous types (and those who just like to look & scoff ;) can read all about it, here: < http :// wiki.xkcd, com /geohashing/Main_Page> Sadly, the Santa Cruz graticule is about...

Today is the official start of the Atlantic Hurricane Season. Don't forget to refill those hurricane survival kits and remember you're on your own for at least the first three days after the storm so don't sit there with your thumb up your ass whining about a slow government response the day after. Good luck to all and lets hope it's another quiet year. Ken...

It was suggested I Google pictures in this group & what I found was disgusting! Even your women are fat! Admittedly I was surprised to see some of you with a woman but I suppose you’re still in the closet. ASC = fat queers club!

Someone asked about reviews of Partagas Gigante. I bought a box recently and have smoked three so far. OTT, I'm not too impressed. I've liked other Partagas Black, but these were milder and almost boring. Personally, I prefer smaller ring size, but I get larger ones because the draw is usually better. I suppose some aging may mellow them out, but...

I need some advice. I have a package of pictures taken at the very first Crescent City Crawfish Cigar Crawl back in 1999. They went through hurricane Katrina sitting on my desk on the second floor of my house alright, but a window blew in adjacent to the desk, and while they weren't wet, they did get damp and stayed at 90 degF for some time until they...

All of the talk recently of Esperanzas and "the good SLRs" had me thinking I needed to smoke one of each recently. Thanks to brians, I got to try the SLR just last night upon their arrival. He had already warned me that they "weren't what they used to be," but I have to say, I enjoyed the smoke nonetheless (as did my wife, who kept coming back for...

ASC lurker Bernie H and I went to a local B&M today for a cigar party sponsored by Arganese cigars. Yeah, I never heard of 'em either, but free beer & pizza as well as cigars were too tempting to pass up. The rep gave everyone a free cigar and they had buy 2 get one free deals on their stock. Very limited range. Only 5 or 6 selections. I took one of the...

So what's the deal with the Tatuaje Black Label's? I've read the history on these sticks but are they really that good or just a "limited production" marketing gimmic? Can't find anyone that has them but just wondering if they're worth chasing down?

For ASC birthday-boy Chris "Frenchy" Arseneault. Elsewhere in history: May 30 1431 Joan of Arc is burned at the stake in Rouen, France for relapsing into heresy. After having signed a confession a week earlier, Joan appeared in court wearing difformitate habitus -- degenerate apparel -- or more precisely, men's clothing. May 30 1593 After a night...

Barack Obama's medical statement from his doctor shows some extremely impressive numbers: blood pressure, cholesterol, triglycerides, etc. http :// cbs2chicago,com /local/barack.obama.health.2.735655.html The only stand-out is his resting pulse: 60. For someone who is as active and lean as he is, it should be lower. That's what nicotine (Nicorette)...
