Already at 92 deg. here in the valley of salt, likely to hit 98 or better before it starts to cool down. Sunday's paper is read and put aside for the dumpster. Haven't been reading much lately since my concentration...

I have been searching for a classic Oom Paul. I don't want just a full bent, but a classic Hungarian. Has anyone seen one for sale lately? My preference would be for a Savinelli Non Pareil shape 9604. I don't know if Sav even makes that line anymore. I would like to stay around $150, and I prefer a sandblast. Perhaps you have one you'd like to sell....

There is an interesting thread on Dr. Michael Siegel's medical blog bringing up a little known fact that in 50 years of animal experiments, the result is that smoking animals live substantially longer (by 20 percent), stay thinner, more youthful and perform better, especially on cognitive tests: Thread - smoking extends lifespan: http :// www .haloscan, com /comments/mbsiegel/1733509792479399693/#162447 Even...

For those who cringe at governmental regulation of minutia in life, but sort of steadfastly continue on in expectation it cannot get much worse, I have news for you. http :// news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/7479758.stm No cheers. jim b. -- UNIX is not user unfriendly; it merely expects users to be computer-friendly.

Hello All. I am smoking some 2010 in a F&T Canadian generously gifted to me by Frank. He got the pipe from Tom Colewell back in the 80's. He said that it has only incinerated Virginia tobaks so I am going to continue to keep it a pure VA pipe. This group is always so amazing in it's generosity. Thanks Frank. This pipe has a wide open draw and a sweet...

Greetings! I don't really intend for this to be a big hit, but perhaps a small gathering of like minded individuals. If you feel that you may wish to participate in a discussion forum on pipes and tobaccos that forgoes the usual banter and leans towards a more literary bent, I am creating a forum for just such a group of gentlemen. No politics or religion,...

I've been on since 2000, so I'm a relative newbie. From what I understand, the network has been around since 1980 or so. Ian -- It is better to have loafed and lost than never to have loafed at all. (James Thurber) http :// www .aspipes.org/ http :// www .bookstacks.org/
