Morning all. It's Peacehaven here in a GBD. Hard to keep this flake lit. A house blend from coffeebeansdirect, com mixed with some decaf espresso on the side. Off to the shop in a few for an early start to the work day. Mouse

'Evening ASP, Been out running errands and doing some shopping all day. I picked up a couple new tins of tobacco and some new tea while out. Tobacco was Paul Olsen's My Own Blend 111 Flake and B93. Smoking some 111 right now with a cup of Kenilworth OP tea, both new to me, and delectable. Hows your evening coming? Casey

Last weekend I was at the 145th Gettysburg reenactment and had my trusty 1860's era pipe with me and two blends from my local pipe shop. I was able to enjoy many smokes (all outdoors) among my other reenacter brothers/sisters many of whom also had various pipes with them in our continual effort to portray and honor our ancestors from that time period....

Folks, I've been looking at some pretty horns from a lot of carvers, mostly Italian, and I find a lot of them interesting and beautiful. But the ones I like to look at the most, like this Jacono ( http :// tinyurl, com /639h87 ) look hard to smoke, and especially to light. Do any of you have one of these almost horizontal horn shapes? Do you find it a pain...

While stopping in and browsing some tinned tobacco selections at Just For Him, I found a tin of MacBaren Latakia Blend dated July of 2001. I grabbed it up for $8.95. Loading the first bowl now in a Stevenson hand made billiard. A good day, Bill

Hello all, I have a growing interest in the genre of the navy flake. What exactly constitutes a navy flake? I'm learning that there are many different types of tobacco and other ingredients used. Interestingly, not all of them use rum. Is rum a distinguishing characteristic of the navy flake genre? Also ... what are some of the best versions of this...

To whoever bought my pipes at Frenchy's, thank you. I have now acquired the bowling ball that I wanted. As an added bonus, I found one brand new and undrilled on Ebay for 1/2 of what they are normally listed for. http :// tinyurl, com /623ofw Bill

July 09, 2008 Is "black hole" a racially insensitive term? Apparently to some. From the City Hall Blog at the Dallas Morning News: A special meeting about Dallas County traffic tickets turned tense and bizarre this afternoon. County commissioners were discussing problems with the central collections office that is used to process traffic...
