I took a piece of bass wood which is four-inches by two-inches by one- eighth-inch. This is the piece of wood upon which my hand rests. In between the sound board and the bass wood are two more pieces of wood, each of which is two-inches by one-inch by three-quarters-of-an-inch. Using some half-inch double-sided tape, I made a bridge-like structure which...

Ok, so I'll summarize what I think I've learned about chords below. 1. The major chords are formed by the first, third and fifth notes in the relative scale. 2. A minor chord is formed by the first and flatted third 3. A dominant seventh chord is formed by flatting the seventh note in the scale. 4. A Major seventh chord is formed by not flatting the seventh...

I copied my real old web page from my computer. It is some material that I put together for practice material for myself and other beginners for the bluegrass jam I used to attend. I will update it from time to time as I experiment with such things as simple arranging, refingering, recording etc. * w w w .geocities . com /castlebravo242@att . net / ...

I've been playing jazz chord melodies out of books and trying finger-picking styles along with vocals for a couple of years, and have gotten used to using a thumbpick along with my fingers for all of my playing. I experimented a bit with flat picks but find them awkward and difficult to control. Some instruction books seem to call for using a flat...

I found taht it's a lot easier to play those bar chords standing up. A lot less force is required on my electric than the acoustic, and the lump between my thumb and index finger is finally going away.. Whew.

Hi - I'm currently trying to learn Roxanne (Police). A cool song, but there is one part in particular that I am having extreme difficulty with: It's the chord change on the 3rd measure from the open string Dm to the EbMaj7 (5th string root, 6th fret). Try as I might, I just can't seem to get my fingers in position fast enough to nail that major...

For the past few months I have experience some tenderness in my right arm, mostly in the forearm area. Not enough though as to keep me from working. The other night...

With any luck at all, very few of you would have a use for these except possibly to give to students, but if you would catch any whopping errors in them I'd be much obliged. If you find them useful yourself, that's OK too. ;-) * w w w .openguitar . com /charts.html * w w w .openguitar . com /barchords.html TIA daveA -- email: darnold4@cox . net ...
