I'm a new guitar player, been learning for a few years now and just recently got a good practice program. Around last year I bought my second Strat from Musician's Friend as a blem model. It's a white MIM Fat Strat with rosewood fretboard, saved a $100 buying the blem version. When I received the guitar I expected the worse, but it came in the what looks...

This was done for a project on another usenet group. My third time in the top ten on soundclick charts. An instrumental version of a traditional song, the Water is Wide, with guitar, mandolin and harmonica. http://soundclick.com/share?songid=6443950 -- Stephen Ballina, Australia

I've got a regular guitar amp, and fixing maybe to get a bass guitar today. Can I use my guitar amp with it? Or will the bass blow it out?

The elvis version. Somebody posted a site earlier, I think it was Nil? Anyway, they have blue christmas here: http://www.theguitarguy.com/bluechri.htm When I play this song, I hear a 12 bar E blues progression. I haven't really played with it that much as I don't like Christmas music, but that was one thing that always struck me. Everywhere seems to list...

It this done by wiggling the string up and down? I've heard that it's done by pressure variance on the string, ie, increasing/decreasing the pressure used to hold it against the fingerboard, but this just seems to make it...rasp, I guess is the word I'm looking for. Wiggling the string up and down seems to produce better results, but is this the right...

Since I've been sick for most of this week, I've not been practicing. So I decided that if I don't feel up to doing practice, its time to do some music theory practice instead. To help me solidify and memorize it, it helps to share it. Here and elsewhere you see many descriptions of chords with augmented, diminished, dom7, add2 and add4 notes in addition...

I just saw a software called Riffmaster Pro online that enables you to slow down music to make it easier to learn. It costs $47. Is there freeware or less expensive software that does the same thing? Thanks.

Gentle Readers, My daughter would like a small bass combo amp so she can practice in her room. I don't know much about these things, however, I have found that there are a few in the under-150bux price range, and before just blindly purchasing one I'd like to know if there any Very Important bass criteria we should consider or if there are any particular...

I am trying to choose an acoustic-electric that will sound very good unplugged too. The choice seems to be between a Larrivee L03e for $875 or a Breedlove AD25/AR for $700 (both used). I think I would like either one. Has anyone owned one or the other or played on them a lot? Any reasons not to go with either? Thanks for your opinion.

Hello, I've got a few links to a couple of songs I've written. There isn't much else to this post so my feelings wont be hurt if you stop reading now. I'd appreciate any constructive feedback on the songs I've got on Youtube, mainly I'd just like to know if you like them or not. I've just re-done them as I've just bought a 12-string guitar, hurrah!...
