I recently bought some strings for my Kay Jumbo guitar, which had been hanging on my old bedroom wall in my father's house for the past 20 years! I fitted the strings, which were 'Earthwood Extra Light Acoustic Guitar strings'. The problem I have is that the guitar doesn't sound as good as it did with the original (from new) strings. Is it likely to...

I was looking at the 8notes . com site to look up the chords Lumpy was mentioning as part of a song snippet, on the dissonant thread, which I was reading. Trying to understand it is another thing. Anyhow, I guess I got one of those aha moments, when I noticed that in the way the site lists the chords, that there is a pattern which I didn't notice. For...

Hi everyone, I have a question to ask about an electric guitar I'm attempting to re- string. I was given a used Ibanez electric guitar, and the old strings sounded worn out, so I decided to put some new strings on it. I picked up on how to replace strings on my acoustic without having to take it to the shop every time a string would break, so might...

"One of the most important aspects of purchasing a guitar is the condition of the neck. The state of the neck determines the degree of comfort (or discomfort) for your fretting hand. A bad neck may result in a guitar that is difficult to play, or even unplayable..." Continued: * easyurl . net /GuitarNeck

Hi - I have a question: Years ago, they used to sell cassette tapes with only rhythm blues ( & I and assume other types ) guitar, where you would play it, and fill in the lead. It was a good way to practice with a "band", by yourself. Does such a thing exists today, in mp3 format, where it's downloadable, or can be played online ? Thanks !

I seem to be floating between many different song riffs, playing only the main riff, or solo, or chorus of a song, rather than practising a full song. I really would like to be able to play a full song all the way through, but I can't find any decent songs with decent tabs out there. I realise there are (approx) 80 billion tabs on the net but they all seem...

Learn to play the guitar can easily be achieved by almost anyone who wants to try it. There are different methods, and it is hard to decide which is the best way to learn to play guitar. As a matter of fact, there are differing opinions on the best way to learn the guitar. There are probably several different methods that could be described as the best way...

Because I am so busy with my work and other commitments, I have about an hour a day to practice guitar. Instead of playing scales and drills, I play the 20 or so songs that I know well. I also might add a new song to my repretoire once or twice a month. If I don't play the songs regularly, I find I forget them fairly quickly. Realizing that I should...

That sounds great Greg. The music is fantastic and your voice is better, your notes are on the money. You've certainly got an original sound to your voice, at the risk of upsetting you I can't help but think of Bobby 'Boris' Pickett. It seems to me that if you could get a bit more low-end growl from your stomach (what singers call 'support') you'd...
