Hi everyone, I have a question I'd like to ask: How many of you have used an acoustic simulator pedal with your electric guitar, and how would you rate the sound in comparison/ contrast to a real acoustic guitar? I've read some good things online about an acoustic simulator pedal made by Boss, however, after a quick visit to a few of the local music...

Theoretically, a song in the key of C can contain 7 chords (assuming 3 note scale tone chords): I - C Major C E G ii - D minor D F A iii - E minor E G B IV - F Major F A C V - G Major G B D vi - A minor A C E vii -B diminished B E G But it seems that many song chord progressions just have 3 chords (I, IV, V) and maybe one of the...

I've been experimenting with doing my own accompaniment while I sing. I am a bass and usually need to transpose most of the chords down by about four semitones from what is on the printed sheet. So, for each song I go to the circle of 5ths and read the appropriate new chord, write it down and play it in lieu of the printed chord. This works, but it...

I'm still clumsy with it, but it finally clicked this weekend. Wow! That's a BIG chord. String a bunch of them together like in the rhythm part to "Walk Don't Run" and I feel like a rock star. C9 is my new "I'll never learn this" chord. =) --Cliff (US)

I've taken to tuning down my acoustic guitar (Epiphone Masterbuilt) an entire step DGCFAE vs. EADGBE...I'm not exactly sure why, but I'm enjoying the feel of the strings & the sound. Because there is less string tension on the neck, am I doing my guitar a favor or do I somehow risk damaging it? Bob Van Tol

I imagine your son told you to leave him alone at some point during this tirade :-) And here I thought you were taking classical guitar lessons... Paul P

I hadn't played much guitar for the last few months until very recently when I finally finished building my amp. This to power my very first electric guitar which has been sitting impatiently in a closet since last June. The amp is a patchwork of circuits from Fender : from the brownface Bandmaster 6G7-A I took the preamps and the two and a half triode...

I was experimenting with a free downloaded VST on Friday. It included a software emulation of the Marshall JCM900 Dual Reverb amp. I wasn't too impressed with it's reverb, but the amp simulation is marvelous! Add a bit of good room ambiance with another effect and some stereo enhancement and those sounds just "moved me" to produce this. There's a few...
