I have the chords for a song. They are G, Bm, C, Em, A7, and D7. From this info can you tell what key the song is in? How do you tell? TIA, EJ in NJ

just a basic question on using a capo and moving it around, if lets say just for fun, you decide to sing the same song in different keys to see the mood it makes, generally, does your voice adjust to the key when you move the capo from fret to fret? (ofcourse, at some point, you wont be able to sing a certain key but im just asking if you voice intuitively...

I presume you have some sort of backing music to practice soloing over, or your solo won't make much sense. So play a note, any note. Does it sound...

G'day all, Just wondering what the concensus is regarding a good starting point for soloing/scale work.I am fairly comfortable with most of the common chords for mainstream music, but,to date haven't made much inroad into lead work.Somewhere on the net i picked up a "scale pattern" that was touted to be universal(if such an animal exists),not...

I don't think it'd be useful to do this. Your melody is in C. What's...

Circle of fifths revisited Much of music theory has simply to be learned by rote. Once you know the chord relationships in the key of C, the information can be converted into any key, but there are 12 major keys, each with its own unique signature which it shares with the corresponding minor key. One way to help keep it straight is by using the circle...

I've noticed( i could be wrong) that when ever i see a multi- instrumental band(horns, drums, flute, violin, cello, guitar, etc) the music that is often played is some form of funk music, afro-beat, etc. is this because that as a form, its easy to compose or jam within this structure. since funk music is usually modal, there is really one key to deal with...

Hello. I am in need of an inexpensive method to connect two guitars into a single chanel practise amp. My guitar teacher has only one amp at the moment as he is an overseas visitor and doesnt intend to buy another one. I've got a practise amp but it's a pia to cart around so I'm hoping there's a way we combine both guitars into the amp without loading...

PT's machine can fix that :-) You should see the sound equipment at this new hall. The techs can't be much over 20 years old and they're drowning in all this new high tech...

Just finished setup and rig for the guys I had been playing with, and loaned them some equipment from my studio to help get the job done - it's the bass players graduation party and their first big outing...got about 100 tix sold, and the smoker is about to be fired up. I'm not up for playing, but I'm going to do sound and crew for them, and if things...
