Hey guys... I have the opportunity to pick up a Workingman's 410T Cabinet this weekend for aboot 250 Canadian. Just wondering if anyone here has had any major complaints about it. I play mainly fretless and fretted 5 string (we do a LOT of Marillion and Toto) at pretty reasonable levels, so I will never push it hard. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Rod...

I leave for Nashville (Victor Wooten's B/N Reunion Camp) on Friday in the afternoon and I've been getting ready all week. I thought I was doing well and that I could get everything packed up and ready by Thursday so I can just go play my gig, come home and pack up the bass, and get up on Friday ready to split. Today I even went out and bought...

What are the opinions of Bass Ace, CTech and the Dean bass headphone amps. I'm thinking the cheapest CTech will do the job. Ed S.

Well, I never ever "steal" music* but this is not available for sale anywhere I could find. Not anywhere. So, I downloaded it, in the name of um, "arguing on the internet" or something: * myjazzworld.blogspot . com /2008/01/monk-montgomery-bass-odyssey.html Had a good listen, most of it twice while walking the dog in the greenbelt this morning. Short...

Hey Lowenders I have a new Fender Rumble combo 100W/2X10 and I love, love the punchy and tight sound of the 10's after using a 1X15, 150W Fender Bassman combo for a while, but unlike my Bassman, the Rumble doesn't have a speaker extension jack. How can I hook up a 1X15 Hartke cab that I have sitting around to my Rumble without damaging anything. ...

Anybody know where I can get a wiring diagram for my Stingray 5? I tried emailing EBMM customer service and have yet to hear back. They have control schematics on their website but I can't find a wiring diagram.

I've read a lot of people here advocating the Sansamp Bass Driver DI. I own one of these myself, had it for years. My main interest in getting one was using it as an option to record direct. Here's something I've noticed that I've never heard anyone mention, and I'm wondering why: When I use it direct, I find that when I play with my fingers (as opposed...

Gentle Readers, My daughter would like a small bass combo amp so she can practice in her room. I don't know much about these things, however, I have found that there are a few in the under-150bux price range, and before just blindly purchasing one I'd like to know if there any Very Important bass criteria we should consider or if there are any particular...

I simply DO NOT get why it is so frikin' hard to get a decent rhythm section sound on 90% of my jazz/upright sessions. I just don't. There are many things that irritate me (no duh), but at the top is: mixing an upright bass like its an electric. Every time I hear that over compressed, scooped out sound, with the piezo mids boosted so that the bass will...

Ok, at the risk of being good naturedly harassed, does anyone know the riff to the '81 tune Wasted by Def Lep?? If so, would you be so kind as to share it with a fellow musician? Thanks in advance. Rob

I just bought a sailboat that I'll be living on. Since I'll be on the move much of the time and won't have regular cable or phone line access I need to find reliable long term web based email. I've used hotmail and a couple of other free web based emails in the past but the fact yer address turns into a pumpkin if you don't log in regularly doesn't work...

What is it with guitar players these days? Most of them that I hear locally and on websites/myspace pages have a real raspy buzzy too much overdriven fuzz tone. Most of the time the low end is totally missing and it sounds like they are playing through a really cheap small tranistor amp. It just sounds too brittle and harsh to my ears and frankly I...

I posted a message earlier about adding a second cab to my rig (2 x 10, 8 ohm) to bring me from 200 watts up to 300 watts and how much that would affect my volume / headroom. I'm wondering if a low-tech solution will have a better bang for the buck effect. My Behringer BB115 (1 x 15, 8 ohm) cab sits on the floor currently (on top of its 1 inch casters...
