First time in years, I owe less than $500 to the fed. Can't wait to go home and send in my taxes electronically! * sniff sniff * Is that sarcasm I smell? Corey * w w w .henryandbuster . com / Radio by dogs, for dogs!

Aguilar combo review in comparison to the well known MarkBass 1x12 combo After gigging 3 times in smaller venues with a MarkBass 1x12 I have chosen a combo with what I consider both better sound and features. The tradeoffs are larger size and weight but it's still pretty portable and the sound is like being dead and gone to low enders heaven. IMHO...

Here is a quick and dirty quiz. Remember, there are no wrong answers and everybody is a winner. What effects do you use on your bass? Me: None, though I have on occassion used BassBalls for one Lenny Kravitz song. I have also toyed with compression/enhancer, bass chorus, loop station, and volume pedal, but I am too lazy to carry all that extra...

Anyone using any of the GK 1x12 combo amps, like the MBE-150 Microbass, Backline 112 or the Neo 700 112? Interested in opinions. I'm looking for something a bit more capable than my 1x10 Peavey 50w combo, for gigs where I don't need to shlep a head and two bigger cabinets.

I play bass for my church. We rehearse for the choir and the praise team at another location using an old piano. While the piano's keys are tuned fine relative to each other, I hear the piano's notes as more than slightly flat relative to my bass. My bass is tuned well. I match both open and fretted notes to 2 different digital tuners. The piano's...

Suggestion needed for decent compression I play every Tuesday (three friends and I run a Jam night) and this covers nearly every genre of music and I have really been getting into the disco/funk stuff as one of the guitarists that turns up is really into this stuff. At the moment I have a Boss GT-6B that I drag along purely to use the compressor functions...

Can't live with 'em and you can't shoot 'em... Our drummer, who's idea and instigation got my band back together after 16 years (now closer to 17) has proven to be the same flake he was all those years ago. 2 weeks in a row he bailed at the last minute claiming to be sick. I talked to him on the phone and he said he was really sick with throat and...

Picked up a GK 2x10 Goldline. Can't wait to try it out. Decided on this over the Hartke because it has a higher watt rating. Plus the gold colored speakers look cool. Also a Rocktron HUSH pedal. The Genz Benz amp I just bought used has a bit of a hum. The Rocktron doesn't really eliminate the hum but is more of a gate so there is no noise when not...

I've been searching archives here and elsewhere but still need to ask a very specific question. I want to practice fretless scales and intervals with the bass plugged into a chromatic tuner in-line and the signal then going to a headphone amp. First off is this a good idea or should I spilt the signal with a mixer and send one feed to the tuner and...

Anyone ever hear about or see the course "Fretless Bass Training" CD from RealSamples? Not much information out there. Seems to be 2 CDs that I play along with to practice intonation on bass guitar. There are intonation training CD courses for violin and cello. Based on recommendations from this group, I ordered the Fender Squier fretless for $279. It should arrive next week. Never having played a fretless before, is there a particular technique for placing the fingers on the "fret board"? Do you place them right behind the fretlines as you would with a fret, or right on top of the fretline? Any suggestions...
