At the moment I play around with the Behringer Bass V-amp http://behringer.com/LX1-B/?lang=ENG I hear that Yamaha has made a bass-version of their Magic Stomp http://www.basstasters.com/effects/Yamaha_Magicstomp_Bass.html although I can't see it on Yamaha's website. Anyone ever tried it? My V-amp is fun, but only as a toy - I would like to take a...

Anyone know why it's so hard to find a shop that sells the new Danelectro bass, I can't find any and the DE website is crap. If you know of a shop that sells them could you please pass it on. Cheers Mitch

Hey guys, My computer decided that it doesn't like to turn on anymore, so I've been without for almost a week. Today I finally got a new fan installed and so far, so good! I spent last weekend hanging out with Victor Wooten on his Palmystery tour so I thought I'd give you guys a update. Friday afternoon I went down to Eugene with a friend...

I was thinking about this and have a short listing of innovations that changed the course of basses or bass playing. In sort of chronological order: Fender Precision Bass: The "first" electric bass Rickenbacker basses: This bass is not limited to the bottom Fretless basses: Just the opposite of why a "precision" bass was invented. Active electronics:...

A local guy currently has a set of stock wound Lindy Fralin Jazz Bass pickups for sale. I consider buying those for my Marcus Miller style Jazz (1974 ash/maple Fender) as it has a fairly weak output and though it sounds good, it can be a bit thin sounding at times. Thing is, I have this bass because of its Marcus Miller-like slap tone and I was...

Does anyone know if Fender necks fit on SX bodies? I'm trying to save some money and have a new Mighty Might neck and wanted to know if it would fit an SX body. Thanks Pat "The Cunt" McDonald

Hiya Guys! I haven't been playing Bass for long and I'm often astounded when I see players whizz around the fret board at lightning speed - Amazing stuff! Then, whist I was listening to the Radio this morning, I remembered why I love the Bass so much. The song itself (sorry people) is pretty poor! It's "Yes Sir I Can Boogie - Baccara" and here's...

Or perhaps better yet, what the &^%$ does it mean when I strike a note, any note, and my the peak light glows while no sound comes out. As the note rings and I assume the power it generated drops, the light extinguishes and the I hear the note sound and decay normally. This is the same lamp that lights when the mute switch is pushed in. I don't this...

My nephew wants to emulate his uncle and play bass guitar. My sister wants to know what she should buy him. I said to start off with therapy sessions. Then after a few years if he still wants to play bass have him committed. It's so sad when young children take a turn for the worse. The only glimmer of hope is that he does not want to be a guitar player...

I don't know why I didn't recall this while we were discussing/beating up Barry Manilow and Neil Diamond last week, but Mix Magazine's "Classic Tracks" featured "Copacabana" in the January issue. I don't know about anyone else, but I always gain a lot of respect and appreciation for songs after I read the "Classic Tracks" article about them -- even songs...
