What is the hole size for the tuner pegs on a Jbass? Mine is an '04 MiM. I would like to get some better (smoother) tuners but I just put new strings on it and don't want to take them off just yet. I haven't had the bass long so am learning as I go what I like and don't like. Also recommendations? The Hipshot look ok. SotR

So, I asked myself, what is a bass amp, anyway, but a power amp and an EQ? I mean, in spite of all the many incarnations and bells & whistles, that's what it basically comes down to, right? (Assuming good quality components). Has anyone here ever used just an EQ & a power amp as a bass rig? How was it? Thanks for commenting :)

I asked a while ago about replacement tuning heads. Thanks to the poster who suggested that if the heads were bad the bass would only go flat. After a couple of weeks keeping an eye on it I noticed it goes flat about as often as it goes sharp so it has to be something else. Well it's happened, I've got in a working band! One of the numbers is "Ain't no sunshine" so I learned the "Withers" version. However, at the rehearsal it turns out they use A D F E instead of the A E D I rightly or wrongly picked up from the audio track. I can cope with this but they also want the bass track to be busy instead of just the roots and...
