Hi... I have a home studio in Brooklyn, NY and I'm looking for someone interested in laying down tracks...either from your own studio or at my space. This is a fun, collaborative deal...NOT a paid gig. If you make your living from playing Bass and need to be paid, I respect that. But...this probably isn't the project for you. I'm looking for people...

E-mail from an excellent drummer I played with in a previous band: "I shall rock fully this Saturday (5/31/08) evening with Porthos at Monty's Krown." From a previous e-mail back in April: "This will be our first show with the keyboard stylings of our new member XXX XXXX and we have a strong feeling that the show will rock fully." The guy loves...

I was thinking about my next bass. I played a number of them recently (review at * w w w .azwebpages . com /bass/BunchOfBasses.htm), so I was leaning towards something in the $1,500 price range. But at the same time I have an RSS feed for the local Craigslist. I see a lot of inexpensive basses there, some of which are great deals. If I played my cards...

* w w w .cheapbandgear . com /Complete_PA_System_800_Watts_p/pasys3.htm I got asked "is this good?" for use in an outdoor courtyard, uses would include both speaking and singing but likely not instruments. If there's anything better for the money, the brand is a horror, etc., I'll pass it along. Thanks in advance. -S-

Most guitarists, when in their formative years of learning and playing, tend to focus on learning chords. Lead guitar is often something that comes later on, as you need to understand how harmonies work over the existing backing chords. Now, within lead guitar there are two main types of learning - the physical techniques (such as hammer ons, bends, vibratos...

It usually takes me 2 or 3 songs to get in the mood and really feel that I am grooving. Not that the firsts songs of the gig are badly played, but I just feel better after a couple of songs. My last gig was to comp some amateur chick singers at their annual singing class concert. My wife is one of them. I did the arrangements. I played bass on most...

I've been driving a 99 Neon for 8 years now. Because of our lovely winters here in Quebec, it is now starting to rust. My 2x12 cab doesn't fit in the trunk of the Neon. I have to put it on the backseats, and it's a pita to make it fit there. I decided yesterday that it was enough. I'm selling that car and getting another one. Probably a Nissan Versa...

Trying to find a nylon string guitar with full body but a slim neck as I do not get on well with standard classical guitars with wide necks. I dont mind if the guitar has a truss rod or cutaway as i am not a purist but I would prefer it to have a normal sized depth body so it will have a good acoustic tone as I cam close to what i wanted with one of the...

This sounds interesting - looking forward to the album: Singer Sammy Hagar has formed a new band with guitarist Joe Satriani, Red Hot Chili Pepper drummer Chad Smith and former Van Halen bassist Michael Anthony. The group, code-named Chickenfoot, will enter the recording studio in September. "We've written eight, nine songs," Hagar said. "When people hear...
