Just bought the Genz Benz Shuttle 3.0 10" combo. Thanks for all the assistance in understanding impedance and the like, it really helped me make the purchase. I was dreading bringing my 4X10 GK cab and amp rig to a low volume gig this Saturday which is up one flight of stairs. I can't tell if it will be loud enough for some of the larger and louder rooms...

Ok, this is a lame question that everybody but me probably already knows the answer to and nobody cares about, but I've been wonderin'..... The song "Behind the Wall of Sleep" by the Smithereens (not Black Sabbath) is apparently about a deceased female (presumably) bass player. Anybody know if they're singing about a real person, and if so, who? Thanks...

There's a D410XLT for sale for what I think is a reasonable price (600 Cdn) near me. Advertised as in great shape. Looks to be a pretty big and heavy box, but I'm real curious. I like 410's. Any body using one?

When I learned that Return to Forever reunited and was touring with Bela Fleck I said "I'm there". But after some "back down to earth" consideration I realized how much it would cost. *The closest venue is Universal City Ca. which is a 500 mile round trip for me @ $4.35+ a gallon (at today prices). Not to mention snail paced traffic that eats...

I was showing my bass to a (non bass playing) buddy. He did something that everyone always does but it never really hit me till today. When a bass cab states that it has 8- or 4-ohm operation (such as the GK 410RBH linked below), how does that generally work? There doesn't seem to be a swicth anywhere that allows me to tell it which impedance to use. I would expect seperate amp inputs to achieve different impedance. From what I now understand about impedance thanks to this forum, wouldn't...

After watching an auction for a very similar bass on eBay (standing at $2,350 with about 7 hours to go) I'm considering selling my 1969 Fender Precision bass. So I finally signed up for this thing last week, got all ready to upload my files and...nothing. I click on the "Add files" button like 1000 times, and nothing happens. Email them. No response. Today I log on ands the page says something like "Uploads temporarily suspended". I just logged on now and it's back to normal which is to say, it's not doing anything. Anyone...

I just watched the 'Paul Mcartney' concert to support Liverpool as a city of culture.... Stood next to Mcartney when he was at Elland Road (Leeds) last week - he was watching the Kaiser Cheifs and sussing out the opposition for his gig at liverpool... Now I know why he looked worried. Hi Folks, Can anyone point me to a good resource to help bolster my understanding of amp specifications? Things like impedance, watts and ohms? Over the years I've bought exclusively based on wattage and I have a suspicion that I am over-buying for the type of situations I play. I play in a rock band (full drums, two guitars two singers and bass of course)....
