* w w w .theoildrum . com /node/4019 "Robert Hirsch, author of Peaking of World Oil Production: Impacts, Mitigation, and Risk Management (a.k.a. the Hirsch Report), appeared on CNBC this morning. Hi Viatologists, As of 21-May-2008, the Worldwide Transportation Library provides geographic coordinates for 10.18% of its 2,191 road photographs. Through retroactive action, the 'Operation Coordinates' program will increase the per centage of photographs containing coordinates over time. KTLA reports that a MFFY in an SUV cut off a LA County Sheriff's deputy and sent him crashing into a liquor store. Sadly, this will be one of the few times when a MFFY will receive the citations he deserves. -- "Dave's not here, man!" - Tommy Chong

A gas station in Cerritos is giving away 10 gallons of gas for FREE, and once again the idiots have been lining up since 10:00 last night. Traffic in the area is, of course, snarled, so even people who aren't dumb enough to participate in the giveaway are going to be affected. These asinine gasoline promotions should be outlawed. If you want to give away...

Enroute home from work this afternoon, along the usual route via the US 71 freeway...as I was entering, a semi driver actually made room for me to enter ahead of him...thus earning automatic disqualification from a GPSTroll Award. Further entrenching himself in the disqualification was that he did not tailgate me the whole time I was on the freeway...and...

Video of cop processing suspected DUI: out-of-control nearly mows down 4 people, but the cop (BION) pushes the other three out of the way and is the only one injured. First seen on KC news. * w w w .youtube . com /watch?v=RNzh3Zabu28 Guess not all cops are jerks after all. :^)

LA's "Tiger Team" is a group of police/city employees who enforce the "no parking on busy commuter routes during rush hour" laws, towing illegally parked vehicles. Now they have a white Honda Civic with cameras mounted all over it and jammed with computer equipment that scans the license plates of every vehicle parked along the curb and stores that information...

One used car that passed through my hands years ago which would be ideal for me now was a 1976 Honda Civic. I'm looking for a small, reliable hatchback and wonder what car made five or so years ago would fill the bill. The newer Civic hatchbacks around here got fitted with fart pipes and are not what I'm after. Any engine / tranny combo will do. Reliaility...

You know the type: you'll be on a residential street approaching a T-intersection with a Yield sign. Ahead of you is a passive-aggressive MFFY who was quite content to go 30 MPH (in a 25 MPH zone) until he noticed you were behind him, at which point he IMMEDIATELY dropped his speed by 10 MPH. At the intersection ahead, P-A MFFY is turning left, and you're...

Americans seem to lump recreational vehicles in the same category as powerboats: discretionary, big-ticket purchases that guzzle too much gas. RVs vary widely in size and cost, from folding camping trailers ($4,000 to $13,000 new) to Type A motor homes (from $58,000 to $400,000...

So there I was in the right lane with my left turn signal flashing, stuck behind a slow truck, as faster traffic streamed by in the left lane. Then I saw my salvation, a car in the left lane with its right turn signal flashing. I moved to the left and was nearly rear-ended by the car with its right turn signal flashing. It turns out that the driver had...
