How conevnient that the truck burst into flames, destroying any evidece of actual brake failure. Of course, doesn't "skidding" require functional brakes in order to lock up the wheels? One thing's for sure: Corvettes are damn safe cars. The driver walked away from the horriffic crash that flipped the truck. P.S. Note all the weasel words. :) http :// www .ocregister, com /articles/intersection-truck-today-2056207-bristol-street Truck...

Here we have a 78-year-old man who is run over while crossing the street IN MID-BLOCK, WITH TRAFFIC FLYING PAST, and yet he is completely oblivious to his impending doom. Yes, the offender passed across the double-yellow center line, but the geezer did not appear to even see the cars coming, much less make any attempt to get out of the way. The Liberal...

First incident: the on-ramp to the southbound 5 from Jeffrey Road turns into the off-ramp for the eastbound 133: the on-ramp from Jeffrey continues on to become the rightmost lane of the off-ramp, and the rightmost through lane splits to form the leftmost lane of the off-ramp. I'm in the rightmost through lane behind a cemet mixer going 55 (speed limit for...

Hi, I was in a car accident, and I'm not sure if it's my fault, other person's fault or both our fault. In any case, I have $500 deductable and insurance paid me the rest of the estimate to fix the car: $2,300 The car is 8 years old but has like 61k miles. (I don't drive much) The accident has put a dent on both passenger doors, but windows still open,...

It's such a good idea, it will never happen, but... I propose a new Federal law in the U.S.A., re-defining classes of workers: - Full-Time workers (32 hours or more each week) shall be allowed to work no more than 4 days a week. Thus, if you work 40 hours for example, you can work 4 days of 10 hours each. Or 3 days of 12 hours each (36 hours, still full-time)....

In the news this morning is a hit-and-run incident where a 9-year-old boy was struck and killed by a riced-up Honda Civic. The entire incident was captured on surveillance video, which they showed on TV (of course, "out of respect for the familiy," they cut away or freeze-framed it just prior to the impact). The boy's family, great role models that they...

...was just on the tube (Fox) saying that the Bakkan oil formation has up to 40 billion barrels of oil, and they intend to pump it _without_ interference from the Federal government. That, of course, will limit the envirowacko's ability to stop it, as well as the Federal democrats, as this will be a property rights issue. Maybe we can see a less-steep...

health insurer pay for any injuries sustained in an accident. I prefer to have my health insurer pay since the insurance policy I have right now does not reguire referrals. I have been told that if a passenger in my car suffers injuries and they don't have auto insurance and I have selected the health insurer option, then the auto insurer does not have to...
