Was wondering if it is possible to seat 5 in a 01 Explorer Sport - I noticed the tie downs in the cargo area and was wondering if anyone has ever mounted a portable seat using tie downs for an extra child to ride in the back? Let me know Thanks Russ

These lights flash exactly 6 times every 1 to 2 minutes while driving. Is this an indication that a sensor or a relay is going out? Doesn't seem to effect the vehicle when it is in or out of 4WD.

How do I clear, PERMANENTLY, the indicator to change engine oil? I have gotten an oil change and the indicator shows every time I start the vehicle. I have to press the reset button every time.

I'm back with yet another problem. Maybe a coincidence, but after my son had the explorer stuck in a snow drift, I now have no first gear in the automatic tranny. I need to start out in 2nd, and then shift into drive - watching the tach and the feel of the shifts, it seems to be working fine. Passing gear is OK, as well. I confirmed it is first gear...

I know we have some Ford technicians here that are very helpful, do we have any sales members here? My question involves lease end options. I'm not sure if I'm getting real answers from my dealer as it seems he is more interested in putting me into another lease where as I'd rather buy a used late model or find a practical way to buy the one I'm currently...

Hey my the bumper cover for my '00 Sport is bashed in on one corner. I thought about replacing it with the same part, but then decided i liked the look of the '00 mountaineer bumper covers. Is it possible to interchange the two? Will a '00 Mountaineer bumper cover fit on my '00 Explorer Sport? I know the foglights would have to be changed, and probably...

There was a report in this morning's paper saying that Ford will change the Explorer to a car-based vehicle at the next major update in three years. It said that the new Explorer would be based on the same platform as the 500 and Freestyle. This sounds like the plan is to do a major upgrade to the Freestyle and call it an Explorer. It seems reasonable...

The heated driver's seat in my '05 Limited has quit heating and the vehicle is out of warranty. The passenger seat still works. Anyone know if these seats are both on the same fuse or breaker. Any ideas on what to look for?

I have a 2003 ford explorer with driver side power seat. I let someone borrow my truck today and they moved the seat forward, when I went to move it back it doesnt budge. It will go in all directions accept back. Any ideas??? Is there any way to manually move it back?

There is some dust and other matter that is behind the plastic (?) shield on my instrument panel. This is the clear shield that is over the speedometer and gauges. Is there a way to remove this shield and clean behind it? 2000 Limited 2WD V8, 80K miles Thanks

I have a problem with my '98 Explorer where the key won't unlock the door easily. I always have to turn it back and forth several times before it will catch and unlock. It seems to be worse in the winter. (Not frozen.) Funny thing is, it's the same for both front doors and the rear one as well. And same deal with the extra key! It's very odd and a pain...
