I just finished putting the spark plugs into the Explorer. Unfortunately my buddy has moved the wires to different locations. Which wire goes to what plug? Lets say we are looking directly at the engine from the front bumper.

I have a 2001 Ford Explorer Sport Trac that's running hot. The needle on the temp gage runs to the top in a manner of minutes while driving. I just had the coolant changed, but it didnt help. Any ideas on what's wrong? Is it the water pump, or the sensor, or maybe the transmission? Should I go to the dealer for service or an independent shop for repairs?...

My speedometer gets stuck at 50mph regardless of the speed I am traveling. I guess I have to replace the entire instrument cluster. Is it difficult to remove and replace the cluster? Any advise would be appreiciated. Thanks Alex

My 1995 XLT Explorer's brake lights don't work. The upper brake light above the rear window does work. I checked the owner's manual, and looked for the fuse, and checked it, and it looks ok to me. Any suggestions about why this could be? If one brake light is out would the other be out too? Seems hard to believe that both bulbs would burn out at...

I just bought my first SUV, a 2001 Explorer Sport 4.0L V6, with 103,000 on the clock. At first I was, and honestly still am, a little trepedatious about buying a car with that kind of mileage. Don't get me wrong, I have had it for two weeks now and I could not be happier with its performance. It is a very smooth ride, and the 4X4 is a BIG conveinence...

Greetings all, OK, so the '97 is only new to me/us, just purchased this weekend for our daughter. The subject is a '97 Explorer Eddie Bauer edition, 5.0 engine, AWD. Main question, after finding and fixing a bad #7 plug wire, how can I reset the "Check Engine" light? Have been told that only a factory tool will do so and that it must go through...

I have a 96 Expoler. After an ice storm I tried turning on my wipers (after the ice was cleared) and they did not work. They made one pass and now are in the operated position in the middle of the windshield. When I turn them on I hear a "click" under the hood. I see that there is a motor mounted on the firewall on the right side and that is where the...

An internal problem in the PCM that causes an intermittent +380 deg intake air temperature reading has been driving me nuts for a year. Took a good look inside the box: no obvious failed solder joints, cracked capacitors or signs of moisture. With neither documentation nor parts available, it sadly has to go. So yesterday I visited the nearest Ford dealership...

I'm trying to remove the driver's side door latch from my 98. I searched and found the instructions posted in another thread. One of the first steps is to remove the door lock cylinder. I've never done this on a ford. Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks steve
