http :// www .wilddiscovery, com .lb/wildtrip/wildtrip.cfm INDIA by Georges Khoury I traveled to India from April 13 to April 18, 2006 and it was Wild Discovery who organized my trip. The trip started in Delhi where I visited the Jama Masjid, Qutb Minar, Red Fort, India Gate, Rajghat and Birla Temple. The hotel in New Delhi, The Claridges, was very...

[...] Quantas shifting some flights from LAX to SFO The move is just one example of a little-noticed shift in lucrative international air service away from crowded LAX to newer facilities in San Francisco, Las Vegas and New York. Since 2000, LAX has lost 12% of the seats on its weekly international departures, while other major U.S. gateways posted gains...

I'm a bit surprised that this article has yet to be posted and commented on in rec.travel.air. An air traffic controller was ordered not to disrupt traffic flow at DFW, and told the emergency pilot to land on Runway 31-right. You mean a government agency was inefficient and incompetent? I'm shocked! Reports: ATC Denied AA Pilot's Emergency Landing Request Aero-News...

I was on a long flight last week. It was about half empty and there was only one other person in my asle. Of course we were drinking our boredom away and got to talking and it seemed we had a lot in common, liked the same drinks and also hated the inflight movie and our spouses. Anyway one thing led to another and we started making out. One of the flight attendants...

I travelled from US to Mumbai, India, via Air France in December 2006. I made a side trip to Aurangabad via Indian Airlines. While returning to Mumbai from Aurangabad, one of my bags was torn at all seams, probably due to stacking of a lot of other luggage on it. I lodged a complaint and the airline person told me that their policy is to repair the bag -...

The last time I was flying from London to LA, I couldn't help but think, having been in that darn plane for 10 hours already, with the guy sitting next to me almost in my face while he tries to sleep sideways in the business class seat, that humanity has to do something about the mode of transportation over long distances. I feel we are way far behind in...

Good day fellow travelers. As I am sure some of you already aware, a new bridge is about to be opened near the base of Machu Picchu. I thought I'd address this issue in my latest blog entry and ask what exactly it is this bridge will do for the region, what implications the bridge has for Peru's most sacred site, and what can we do about it? Sometime...

I received my US Airways Dividend Miles statement today (email) and I have to compliment them. I thought that it was a nicely-written and they actually addressed a couple of areas where they've screwed up. I found it refreshing to see that a company can actually admit to being wrong and seemingly doing something to correct problems. -- Gary Visit...
