Anyone out there ever get a MAF sensor SummitRacing brand? Looks like thats my only choice for a 75mm 24lb calibrated sensor. Granatelli and Ford Racing dont make em that small. Pro-M is the only one that makes the same size sensor and Ive never heard of them. Im of a mind to trust Summit. They gave me a free hat with my last order. :) Backstory, 89...

Problem: Car has little power at low RPM, but as the RPMs climb the power is fine. Its almost like one should rev the engine before letting out on the clutch in order to get the car to take off from a stand still. Any ideas what could be the problem? Background: I've been helping a friend get his 89 Mustang four- clyinder car running again so that he...

My 1994 Mustang with the 3.8 engine seems to be going through a bit more oil than normal. It's not leaking out anywhere and there is no smoke of any type when I start it or run it. No smell either. My guess is it's getting past the rings. The engine was built about 40 000 miles ago and I don't know who did it or if they actually knew what they were doing....

I have a 1989 Ford Mustang GT. It has a sensor on the side of the oil pan, just above one of the oil drain plugs. I believe it detects when the oil is too low and is connected to a Check Oil light on the instrument panel. Does anyone know what this part is called and where I can get one? Mine has a slow leak. Thanks Byron

Ive sent to summitracing but wont hear back till next week. Someone must know this. In the middle of a project, Ive got a BBK #1557 cold air kit sitting on the floor, because of situation change I need to upgrade my fuel injectors and MAF. The BBK site says this cold air kit wont fit aftermarket MAFs. The summit site says that the Granatelli MAF is 90mm and...

The other day my check engine light came on. Car was still running fine except that the tach was jumping up and down with no real relation to my speed. I wasn't able to check anything that afternoon and didn't crack open the shop manual. The next day, back to normal, no check engine light. I haven't had a chance yet to hook up my code checker but I was wondering...

The driver's door is in need of new hinge pins. I've been told I have to take the panel off, disconnect everything and then take the door off to replace the hinge pins. Looking at this, it seems that if I support the door with a couple of jacks I could probably take out the hinge pins, install the new bushings and pins and maybe just do a little bit of...

I think I have a bad head gasket on an 89 5.0. I had posted to this group a while ago asking for diagnosis tips, and a pep talk on doing it myself. I got lots of good tips, but I guess I'm still chicken. I'm probably going to break down and have it done. While the shop has the intake off, what better time to put it back together with a new intake? :-) I'm...

I don't think I'll ever understand WHY people get so crazy when it comes to the GT500. I previously posted how, after looking for quite some time, I stumbled across one for $500 _under_ MSRP. I was pretty darn pleased. All said and done, with NAV,MACH1000, HID and some other piddly stuff, under $49k. Drove that puppy straight out to the Superbowl (grr),...

I had no problems with driver side plugs. Before I start on the passenger side, do I need to remove just the intake MAF hose or some other stuff??? I read that the fuel rails just need to be loosened (which did work on the driver side OK, but it looks like there is a lot more crap on the other side. Thanks Mark 2000 GT 'vert

If there's anyone out there who can answer this, they're on this list... I have an 89 convertible, my third Fox - body. My others were a 92 and 93. The later models have a speaker grill in the back seat trim panel, but my 89 doesn't. It actually has an 'indent' set up like an arm rest. I have redone the audio in each Mustang, and I'm now on my second...
