My '94 Accord LX never had a transmission problem before but today, after a short stop, I had a hard time getting the car rolling. It was as if you tried to start a manual transmission car in the 3rd gear. So the 1st and possibly even the 2nd gear was skipped. Also, the A/T speed indicator in the instrument panel was flashing the #4 gear position. According...

I've noticed that a lot of windshields have dot patterns at top center and sometimes around the edges. Is this just decoration, or does it serve a purpose? Thanks.

Hello I have a 2004 Honda Civic and would like to change the ATF fluid. The owners manual lists Honda ATF Z1, so I guess I need to go to the dealer? I was at Walmart today and I saw Mercon V ATF and on the bottle it mentioned that it meets Honda Z1 Is this ok? Or do I need to use the Honda fluid? Is there a big deal, I don't want to do anything...

I own a 93 civic with 199k miles. I have recently noticed a decent amount of drippage coming from underneath the distributor. I replaced the o-ring gasket but still no luck. any ideas of what is going on? perhaps i should put some gasket silicone around the distributor hole? thanks for your help. Ricky

Yes I know about the tranny problems with the vehicle, but among you owners, how many actually experience the breakdown, and around what mileage? -- x0x0x0x

Good morning. My 1991 Accord makes a high-pitched squealing sound when the engine is running. The sound only goes away when I press the clutch pedal. I don't actually need to disengage the clutch...just push the pedal far enough to (I assume) contact the release bearing. Does anyone here know what is causing it? Can I fix it without pulling the tranny...

Hello, Group: I have more information on my problems with my Accord. After taking it to the repair shop to have the O2 sensors and the CAT replaced, the car seems to have transmission problems. Symptom: Moving the car between gears causes a jerk. When I'm idle and go to accelerate the car jerks, sometimes very hard. --tj

I was skimming customer comments on Civics and Accords at Edmunds.com and interior quality issues appear to loom large on the lower ratings.

Good afternoon. My 1991 Accord EX has the factory radio/tapedeck with the optional factory CD player below it. The radio works, but the CD player has died and the tapedeck functionality is a waste of space. It is time for a new stereo. Can someone give me some idea how I go about installing a modern audio system in the 1991 Accord dash? All I need...

My 5-speed shifter is getting kind of squeaky and it seems like it needs lubrication in the area under the shift lever boot. How do I access this area ? Do I need to pull the console ? Is it accessible from beneath the car ? Does the shifter boot some how come off so that it can be lifted up ?

I recenlty replaced the brake switch at the pedal (couldn't get lights or out of park without using the emergency release on the column). Obviously there isn't much to go wrong on this repair, but coincidentally or not, I now have an intermitent situation where the brake pedal remains in a partially depressed position after getting into gear and movement...

Our 1992 Honda Accord has the spark plug holes on the valve cover labeled "2, 3, 4, 5." Why are they not lavbeled 1,2,3,4,? Doesa this mean someone switched the valve cover from another car? We bought it used. Thank you. Actually what car would say 2-5 anyway?
