The Coupe 9 version of the Honda 1300 now resides in the Jalopnik Fantasy Garage (as well as in Junkman's garage), but the standard 1300 sedan was a pretty interesting car as well. You got an air-cooled engine with four carbs and dry-sump oil system sending 100 horses to the front wheels and styling that must have made Soichiro proud (though maybe he wasn't so...

I have recently started to hear scratching noises while turning the steering wheel on my '97 Accord. How critical of a problem is this? If it's just a minor annoyance, then I will hold off on fixing it until the next time I need to take my car in for maintenance.

All, Our 2004 Accord flashed 10 times. I know I looked this up somewhere before but can't find it again. What is the diagnostic for 10 flashes? Thanks H-S-F

I finally got serious about looking for a second Honda Civic, c. 1989-1997. A few observations: -- A friend of mine convinced me Carfax was worth $35 for 30 days, unlimited checks. For the four cars I checked, it revealed: (a) Odometer tampering with two, with the advertised mileage being over 100k lower than the Carfax title reported mileage; (b)...

The first step has been achieved and now only some on-the-road promotion is needed with a few select testimonials. No codes or anything. I believe the vendor probably set it to come on when I had a key made. I would think the light would come on around 60k miles which is when I plan to do the major service. Can the light be easily turned off?

I have a 2004 Honda Accord with just over 26 thousand miles and the original battery. Is it time for me to replace the battery yet? On the one hand, I do NOT believe in waiting for the battery to go bad. Some people say that can tell by the fact that they need to crank a bit longer to start the car, but I'm not sure I'd notice. Even if I knew I would notice...

Hi all, A while back, I asked for advice about a pesky intermittent A/C problem I was having with my '95 Civic (80,000 miles on it). Namely, the A/C just doesn't work much of the time; occasionally it favors me with some cold air, but most of the time it doesn't. My regular mechanic failed to fix it. Folks here suggested I take the car to a Honda...

i seem to have fixed an odd hot-start problem in my 89 civic - and it seems to have been the tw [coolant temperature] sensor. symptoms were excessively high idle revs on hot-start, occasional rev-hunting up and down, [and in the winter, an excessively long time for the torque converter to get lock-up signal]. having checked all the usual suspects,...
