I suggest reading up on WIKIPEDIA about Tire codes ... The ones for the SPORTS are rated to H - 210 km/hr , meaning 210 km is the max speed. The ones on the DX and LX, are 14 inch steel, with 175 65R 15 inch tires whereas the Sports which is $5k more expensive as a dealer model, with ac, power locks and mirrors, etc. has P195 55 r15 tires ...rated...

Hello, After replacing my brake pads a few times; I think I created a problem. Only my front passenger brake is getting used, while the driver side has not been applied at all. So, I called the repair shop, they said your caliper is bad and you would need to replace both calipers. If I purchased a 1998 Honda Accord 4 CYL EX caliper online, would this be...

In case this helps somebody... Occasionally people post saying one or more of their automatic transmission gear selector lights isn't working. I had originally thought these lights were LEDs soldered to a crcuit board and were not replaceable. Well today I discovered I was wrong. Those little lights ARE replaceable. First you need to remove the...

The following ONLY occurs during wet weather: I have a 92 Honda Accord LX with automatic transmission. Starting from a stop, the car feels as though it's trying to start in third gear. Once we get going, I cannot seem to get it to go beyond third gear. On the highway, I can't go past 50 mph, and the tachometer stays around 3. I noticed that with the...

My 98 civic has had this problem for a while where just after starting (sometimes a minute) idle will get very jumpy. It is like the car is going from 3 cyl to 4 cyl, or just not getting enough gas for a few seconds... but the problem only lasts about 20 seconds. Any Ideas?

I want to thank this board for much help in getting my girlfriend's 1989 accord EX going. 1. It would not always start and sometimes the check engine light would come on. After several false goose chases like replacing the fuel pump, fuel filter, ignition coil, and perhaps a few other things - I finally researched here and found a common problem being...

Hi, My car should reach the 100K mark by the end of the year. I have to replace transmission fluid soon. My question is that is it worth replacing the transmission fluid or just get it done with when they replace the Timing Belt? I asked about Radiator Flush/Coolant and the mechanic told me that is done as a standard procedure when they replace...

91 Civic LX here, 203k miles. I am considering replacing the front upper and lower ball joints. I have read the archives and also many of the reports at honda-tech . com on this. A few queries to see where the Honda technical population is on this: -- lifetime warranty upper ball joints may be purchased at Autozone . com for $20 each. Can I use a Harbor...

Hello, my 89 Accord standard has a "lurching" problem; I was driving along pulling the very smallest UHaul trailer (approved for my model car) when it just started this awful "slipping/hesitating" thing, almost like it was the fuel pump/filter, but not sure- seems like it would do it all the time if it were one of those (when I'm not pulling a trailer)....any...

The battery went dead on my 2001 Honda Accord EX-V6. After recharging the battery everything works fine except the audio system. When I attempt to use it CODE appears in the display when I press buttons. After that Err 1, Err 2, etc. appears. Evidently I need a code to activate the it. How do I do this?

I have the Hanes manual, and the procedure seems straight-forward enough (I'm mechanically inclined). However, what are some "gotchas"? Also any recomms for an effective brake-bleeding kit that won't bleed my wallet? -Zilla
