This is a nice clean one, so you don't get all confused with the clutter. The question for the 5th tine. Why did the IRS call you down, where you trying to rip off the government too? I have an 85 CJ7 that has developed a nasty habit of missing extremely bad at highway speeds or when pulling a utility trailer (when the engine is hot). I have replaced the plugs, coil, dist. cap & rotor, and control module - all of which produced nothing except a much lighter wallet. The fuel filter is only about 1 year old. NOW for the manifold leak....

Kind of hilarious story. Brake light was on, which probably meant the handbrake was still engaged, but I decided to ignore it and see if I could loosen it up by speeding up. Much noise and grinding, vibrations, then the whole thing exploded onto the freeway. Result, need to get a new transmission from a junked version of the same jeep. Any idea what this...

to follow up my last post, I refilled my 2001 Grand with 89 octane gas rather than the cheapest gas of 85....there was a good differance in the mountain pass lanes, I had more power to keep up with the speed limit and even passed others on Interstate 70....maybe a bad tank of 85 but still I will go with the 89 till I get down out of the 8 to 10,000 ft...

Greetings, I installed a hitch, snapped on the wiring harness back at the access panel behind the spare. I have not yet run the fused power line to the battery as the instructions indicate. Reading the shop manual I see a 50 amp fuse in the PDC for trailer wiring. What is its purpose , since i didnt get a factory hitch. Is there a better place to...

Howdy all, Just a few questions about the 88 Jeep Comanche. 1) Overall, how would you rate it? 2) Parts, are they hard to find? 3)Maintenance, does it cost an arm and leg and is it easy to work on? Basically, if anything needs to be done, can you do it with the engine installed in the vehicle? I am sure I will have a few more as I think more about...

Can somebody recommend what shocks I should buy for my 2001 Cherokee Sport? This car is driven by my wife, so I would like to have firm but smooth ride. I replaced the stock shocks in my 97 XJ with Gabriel Ultras and it rides real rough. Thanks Dave

Well, knew it was time to work on the brakes and almost waited too long. Camera was at work, so let's go with ye olde time fambly style typovision. Removed rear drums, pads have about 2mm left on the worst shoe, adjustor on the left is frozen up with dust. Not a problem, easy fix, new spring kit, clean everything, new pads. The adjustors jeep used...

This is just an update from the previous post that I had going a couple of weeks ago. I got my new BFG Muds installed on 8/31/07 and they look AWESOME! The spare tire did fit under the third brake light, but there is only about 1/8 inch of room to spare. You will definitely not get a bigger tire under there unless you do some modifications. I also had...
