I replaced the evaporator core on a 2001 XJ this past weekend. The heater hoses were old and they had to be cut off, so we did that and replaced them with new ones. Everything went smoothly, and we reassembled everything and started the car. Coolant started leaking everywhere! Not at first, but only after the pressure builds up and you rev the engine a few...

Hello all. I have a 2006 Wrangler X with 6 speed manual tranny, 3.07 gearing, and D30 front/35 rear. I recently upgraded my tires from the stock 215/75/15 to 31/10.5/15 BFG All Terrain T/A KO. I am looking for a reliable way to tell if my speedometer is off at all with the tire upgrade. I do not have access to a GPS system. What I HAVE done is to use...

1995 JGC with the electronic heater/cooling controls (no cables/vacuum) will not change the position of air output when selected. Air is coming from the floor vent and will not change no matter the selection. The manual I have (aftermarket) does not show the electronic controls or even where the valve is located.... Any one got a link or help with where...

I'm parking my '99 TJ Sport for the winter and would like some advice on what to do beforehand. Where I live it gets to about -35C with about 3-4 feet of snow cumulative for about a 5-6mth block. Here's what I will be doing already: 1. Taking the tires off and storing them in the shed or outside but under poly, lying on their sides and stacked (is this...

What a happy day. My Ex husband and his wife came to visit a few weeks ago. They took our littlest Jeeper home for three weeks and he just brought him home last night. While they were here he told me that he had a Warn winch he would give me for my Jeep. What a guy! Last night, the winch came with him. It's a Warn M8000, complete. Only been used...

I usually fill the tank on my Cherokee at about 300 to 320 miles but have let it go as far as 360 miles (not willingly, but in can be hard to find a gas station open after midnight in the Asheville NC area!). Well tonight it was still showing about a 1/4 tank of gas but I'd gone 350 miles so filled up. It took exactly 14 gallons. 350 miles... 14...

Hey guys, I got a 2002 JGC that I bought new. I set the stations, seat position and the rest and programmed it into memory position 1. About a couple of years ago I changed the station settings and put new ones in, and had slightly modified the seat and mirror positions earlier. Last month, my battery died and after replacing, the only thing missing...

This Charter for the rec.autos.makers.jeep+willys Usenet Newsgroup needs to be posted now and then to keep it valid so I do. This is 'not' an 'alt' newsgroup, but a 'rec' one which isn't quite so much of a free for all 'usually'. Some ISP's will still take Usenet abuse seriously and a surprising number of SPAM advertisers will stop posting here if...

95 XJ Sport The spring mechanism seems to have broken in the seat belt latch. There is no tension on the release button anymore, and the (?) catch plate inside the buckle stays in the released position. I can sometimes make it latch by jiggling the clasp around, but it's not easy. What makes this more annoying is it's the DRIVERS buckle :( Is there...

Hello all- Currently I am replacing a 151 wutg a 258 w/T5/Dana 300 into a CJ7 and seem to running into an issue. Once the Transmission was bolted onto the crossmember bracket and I came up to take a look it was apparent that the engine was tilted back, so much so the valve cover is resting against the back of the engine compartment. It seems that the engine needs...

First, let me say I hope I'm not violating any newsgroup charter with this, but: I have a 1986 CJ-7 in my basement which is for sale in part or in whole. I would rather sell it as a whole. It was gently rolled by my cousin, resulting in the hard top being destroyed, and the left rear corner being crunched. It needs a hood, front grill, radiator,...
