My friend has a 2000 Miata with a damaged left rear tail light. Is it difficult to remove the old light assembly and replace it w/ the new one? I haven't had the opprotunity to look inside the trunk to see how the assembly is attached to the body. Are instructions available on line? Thanks, Tom

Bought a 2006 "Tourinng" with 10,000 miles, picked up today. Playing with it in the driveway, came across a couple of things I hope you might be able to answer. 1. The second key remote works intermittenlty. Do the batteries go dead and can they be replaced easily? 2. The two rear speakers do not work. When changing the radio fade to rear, there...

Hi, a friend who is in school needs a replacement left rear tail light assembly for her 2000 Miata. She is in school and doesn't have a lot of money. I googled the taillight but was unable to find one online. Any suggestions where I might buy one used? Jack

Sorry and thanks. I have my eye on two Miata's to purchase mode and I have a nagging question about ownership that I have seen on more than two of these. I run a carfax report on any car I might be seriously interested in. I have noticed a trend with the Miata's where I see them only owned for a year or more before being passed off. I have my eyes...

Real wheel: * members.cox . net /xs11e/08-02-08_1042.jpg The orange cord is to my electric impact wrench, a HUGE time saver. Front wheel: hppp://members.cox . net /xs11e/08-02-08_1041.jpg I think just having a clean wheel is a huge plus! I hate the look of the lug nuts but I don't know what to do about 'em? OK, gonna go change that rear wheel,...

Where are the attachment points for '99 Miata headlight assemblies? I see two bolts on top, but there is at least one I can't see that's holding it in.

Hey, I just got the official Mazda workshop manual for my '99 from Med Center Mazda: * w w w .mazdaparts.org/shopmanuals.html on sale for $55.00. Not a bad price compared to $100+ like I've seen before, and I got free shipping by spending over $100 (I also got plugs and wires and a fuel filter.) I should have got brake pads too. When I changed...

How do I get the old bulb out and the new bulb in on a '99 MX-5? I pulled the big round rubber grommet off the backside, but there's two clips holding the bulb...I bent one moving it, and can't reach the other. I have reached the limits of my limited expertise.

I have a 2004 M5 mazdaspeed. The car is great except that the steering wheel hides the turn indicators from my line of sight. Also, the turn indicator sound is so low that I can not hear it with the top down. Does anyone know of an indicator light or sounder that I can mount onto this car so that I do not drive for 5 or 6 miles or more with the turn...

I have a brand spanking new 2008 Miata (only 90 miles on it when I got it last week!) with a 6 speed transmission. I have 600 miles on it now and noticed something strange and I don't know if it's me or the car. I generally shift around 2500-3000 rpm for faster acceleration and don't rev the engine more than 3100 - 3200. The last time I drove a manual...

I've mentioned before that the headlights on my '92 don't always go up when I turn the lights on. It's VERY rare, maybe once a month or less and I can raise them by using the button on the dashboard so I haven't worried about it too much until..... Last night, I drove the car, it's been sitting because of the torn out rear window coupled with the...

Matching ignition switch, door handles with locks, and trunk lock from a 1996 Miata with 75,000 miles of use. No heavy key rings ever used on on the ignition, at least after 10,000 miles when I bought it, not sure about before then. I think that the ignition switch is specific to 1994-1997 models. Sorry, didn't save the console and glovebox locks. If...

Whenever I turn on the fan (with or without the air conditioner), I hear clicking sound from the glove compartment. If the fan is set to "2", the clicking sound becomes faster. It sounds like one of the fin on the fan is hitting something, but I'm not sure what to look for. I'd appreciate any suggestions. __ sol

I need a new clutch in my '03, and while I'm replacing that, I was debating about a lighter flywheel. Flying Miata has 2: 10+ lbs. and 13+ lbs. This is a street car so I don't need the lighter of the two. I'm told that a lighter flywheel will improve throttle response by letting the engine rev quicker and smoother while retaining a smooth idle. Any...
