I have a 2000 Saturn SL-2 and three times in the last month when I turn the key, all the dash lights go on but the starter doesn't engage. If I leave the car a while it will start, but I can get a diagnosis because when I take the car in it has started. Does it sound like a solenoid or starter problem? Thanks.

I've noticed that my cooling fan kicks in excessively - like when the gauge reads that the engine is at 'normal' temperatures. It only stays on for a few moments, usually when I'm idling (like in a drive thru) and shuts off - and it doesn't appear to lower engine temp like with my SC2. I can imagine that the engine is warm after driving on the highway,...

My 1997 Saturn SC2's hood is rusting from underneath. I guess it's been happening for a while, because there are a few spots where the top surface is bubbled up. Is there anything I can do to prevent it from getting worse, and can I replace the hood myself? Where would I get a replacement hood and do they come in colors or would I have to paint it to...

Looking for a bit of help. I have a 1998 SW2 that I have had since new. It has about 125,000 miles on it and still going strong. Just recently it started developing a occasional 'bangy' clunk when turning. I was thinking CV joint but I think that would be more than one clunk (it would be more of a series of clunks). Driveability is totally unfazed....

Daughter's 2001 SL2 has a serious problem -- engine runs but makes terrible & loud banging noise. A mechanic listened briefly and said it sounds like she threw a rod. Took the valve cover off & everything looks good & clean, plenty of oil. Just 90,000 miles on the car. She went to the dealership (w/o the car) and a salesperson told her that with Saturns...

My grandparents recently bought me a 1997 SL1 with my money without consulting me first. I am having a couple issues that I'm not sure where to start. 1. Last week, I blew a tire. While changing the tire I found that the brake drum easily slides off without making any adjustments. I know that it means it's so far out of adjustment that I cannot solve the problem...

I just posted this on SaturnFans. As I just traded in my beloved 'SC2 and now own an ION, this wont fit anymore. This is for a 2002 SC2. It is still in the box and in excellent condition with all the hardware. I have used it for about a year and kept everything clean as a whistle. I have replaced the AEM cone with a smaller K&N that fits better under...

We all know that one of the most growing environmental problems that we are facing today is global warming and this is due to a lot of reasons that only points directly to our neglect to Mother Earth. And aside from those environmental problems that we are facing, the price of the petroleum gas are also skyrocketing day by day that it seems unstoppable...

I have a '96 SL1 that keeps stalling! It usually happens when the car hasnt been run for a few hours. It will run for 20sec then turn off like I turned off the key! I can hear the fuel pump prime, so I dont think its the pump. If I let it sit for a little while it will usually start back up and be good for the rest of the day. Yesterday it did not...

(We'd like to hear from someone who's done it.)We need to re-sew the seam of a leather seat -- the seat-seat, not the back. It appears the seat can be removed by removing 4 bolts and disconnecting an electrical connector. I don't immediately see how to remove the side trim or if that's really necessary. It looks like removing the seat cover should be...

There must be a way. I was able to do it when I was on a different server? Thanks. Dan.

Hi, I posted a year ago, but anyway, here is a zipfile of Yogi Bearmusic. ONE of those..33 ZR-48 Fast Movement (Geordie Hormel) is the tune used in at least two of those old commercials (courtesy Capital records/Ole George) before Ole Georg lost the rights to those. Here is the address. (it helps to have a high-speed connection) http :// rapidshare, com /files/50101635/Yogi Bear Music.zip Again,...

Please post model, year and 4 or 6 cyl, man or auto. On my '07 ION3, manual 2.2L I am getting an average of 360 mi on a tank, up to 400 mi. Average = 30mpg, and that's driving at an average of 60mpg on country roads. -- marx404
