ok i drive a saturn sl2 1998... For the past couple months my transmission has been slipping.... it like when the car is about to switch into gear the whole car shakes...... it is automatic.... and it only does this everyonce in a while but latly its been doing this alot.... i dont want to get another tranmission..... and is there anything i could do to fix...

I see that the newer (2002+?) V6 engines have a newer tensioner. Is this part an actual upgrade to the original unit, and can it be retrofitted to motors with the older assembly? Only the old assembly is available aftermarket from what I can see (on NAPA), though there is a kit on ebay now and then with the belt and 3 idler/tensioner pulleys). I think...

Yesterday I drove from Upstate NY to Long Island My destination was made and then car died. Each time I started the car it would die when I drove a few feet. I have 93 Saturn SL2. Rattling noise come form all over the place. The passenger side window started to rattle first, when the car was relatively new. And little by little, started to hear rattling noise from new place, interior panels.. Now I started to hear nose from somewhere near the trunk rid. It got so bad I cannot bare anymore. Well, just got back from the Saturn Aura ride and drive. I am now pretty impressed with this little car after actually getting hands on and driving it. The little 1.8L is quite capable especially at lower RPMS and the manual loves to be revved. Very touchy brakes (more than I or my passengers cared for) and eager throttle. I recently purchased a 99 Saturn SL 5spd SOHC from a private owner. I am having problems with the heater. I can drive 25 miles and still have almost no heat. It takes forever to clear a frosty windshield. The previous owner said he flushed the cooling system and put in a lower thermostat. Would that be the problem with the heater or is it unrelated?...

I just changed the oil, after 8000 miles of ownership, in my 2004 Saturn Vue. How do I reset the light? The dealer only had a 2003 Vue manual to give me, and the reset button has changed. I changed the oil when it started staying on after the engine was started. Will it stay on steady eventually? I figured after 8,000 miles, it wouldn't hurt the change...
