Hi all, I'll be doing some body work on my Ion in the next little bit (cold weather and sliding into things don't mix...dent resistant panels tend to get brittle in the cold). I'm wondering if anyone has an exploded view of the passenger side front of an Ion...I want to make sure I am getting everything I need to do the job right the first time...

Four or so years ago when I started posting here this NG was alive with knowledgeable Saturn owners who came here selflessly to discuss all things Saturn and help each other resolve problems. Lately though this has been a harbor for trolls and naysayer who has only one intention, which is to slam Saturn and deter others from enjoying the company of those...

I have a Saturn SL2 and the driver side door is missing the protective cover over the key lock. The key lock works OK with the key, it's just missing that metal exterior cover. I can buy the entire lockset from a dealer for about $70, but wondering if I can get just the part I need somewhere. Any place online that would sell them? Thanks. -- Mark...

I pulled into my driveway and shut the car off. Something just didn't feel right as the engine shut down. It had been driving just fine up to that point. When the engine was started about 30 minutes later, ran like crud. RPMs were all over the place and sounded awful. At high idle things smoothed out so I figured was not a critical problem. Engine was...

Just wondering if anyone else has had this issue and, if so, how they have fixed it. I've got an '03 Ion that very occasionally doesn't want to start...battery has power, it'll often crank a bit over and then die with the "service engine" note appearing. I suspect it is a loose wire near the fusebox under the hood, but I'm not certain. Any like...

Hi all, I am looking around for a stowable (probably fabric or vinyl?) container I can mount on top of my '96 SW2 wagon to carry camping gear on long drives. It needs to be waterproof, not just resistant, and something like 15 cubic feet. It needs to be stowable because I have nowhere to store a hard shell one. Also trying to find a roof rack...

I'm putting new valve stem seals on my 1998 SL1. Its turning out to be a lot more difficult than I anticipated. The first major problem was removing the crankshaft bolt. After wrestling with it by hand, I read about the starter trick. That didn't work either. Then I found a post somewhere that said the best thing to do is cut the flange off the bolt....

My daughter is looking at the 2008 Vue with 4 cylinder engine. She wants the 4 because of the price and fuel economy being better than the 6. We have driven it and know it is not peppy like a 6, but willing to tolerate it because of the extra gas mileage. What are your opinions of the vehicle as an owner? Daughter is a bit concerned about the four...

01d...@noplace . com We owned two Saturns. Traded in the first one before anything went wrong but the second one, an LS2 was a huge pile of crap. How's $600 to replace the thermostat because they put it *inside* the engine block? One thing after another. We got rid of it So, now the only cars we drive/own are Lexuses. Stone solid reliable with...

2002 SL1 110,000 km I bought the car in 2006 at 50 months old ; 65,000 km. Saturn dealer told me, at my first service visit that the upper motor mount was worn & needing replacement. I figured that it should be a warranty repair - he said no. Then I asked why only 4 years 65,000 to wear out the mount. He replied that it was an aftermarket mount - poor...

hi all, When I drive the car, it makes a clunking noise whenever the gears shift. It's automatic. Then when the engine warms up a little, there's also a scraping noise. None of this is bad enough to make the car undriveable, but of course I don't like it. It seems like when I fill the gas tank completely, it gets a little better. Ok, so my b/f took...
